Welcome aboard the forum somegirls. I too lost my father quite a few years ago but I know he's with me every time I go out. I'm in Salem but I grew up in Gresham and spent a lot of time fishing the Sandy River in troutdale and above. If there's anything I can do to help you out feel free to ask. Keep the lines tight and the Spirit light, I know your father and my father are doing the exact same thing. Maybe they're sitting side by side telling fish stories on a bank somewhere catching Whoppers.

Try a cocktail shrimp with a mini marshmallow to float it off the bottom. Works for worms also

Your best bet is to check with the myodfw website. There you can get stocking info lake levels and boat ramp accessibility.
The Sandy River at Dodge Park is mostly a salmon and steelhead fishery. Mostly done thru drift fishing

Thanks but I don't own a boat. Salmon River gets a good fall Chinook run and it's a small enough River for a bank fisherman like me to be successful. Just hoping for some local tips and advice
