Nice Striper, congrats! Were you trolling? If so, check your regulations to see if umbrella or Alabama rigs are legal there as those are effective with chartreuse paddle tails as well.

Yes, both times he was. Thanks for the Tip!!

A Sun Tracker Fishing Barge Pontoon, I think a 2004. I got to say I can't believe the price they get for these things! My Husband was saying because it has a brand new motor and Trailer , but geesh it's a Mercury not an Evinrude I still think it is ridiculous!
And what I can't believe is the shape the dealer sold it to my husband in. All the seats were badly molded and filthy, everything was filthy. The carpet looks dry rotted on top of the live wells and in 2 places on the carpet is 2 long lines of where something rusted sat. The forward throttle sticks and the cigarette power outlet doesn't work even though my husbands volt meter says its supposed to be working. The aluminum trim all around is so badly oxidized I have already bought about 3 different things to try out on it. Already bought a new top and boot for it and someone before us used ..of all colors some God awful Green duck tape to tape where the seams are coming undone on the fishing chairs! Maybe men are not so picky but for this kind of price I'd be ashamed to sell it in that sort of shape! Don't get me wrong. LOVE The boat...just saying...I bought a 2003 BMW Z4 Roadster , after that should have been fatal Mustang wreck I had, one owner, 7000 miles and the thing looks brand spanking new! Anyways thanks for letting me vent here LOL and maybe someone can tell me some products I can buy that they have had great success with to help with my makeover of the cleaning of the aluminum trim etc! Blame it all on me as I am the one that just had to have a fishing pontoon boat! Of coarse the dealer did his best to sell my husband a new regular Pontoon, not made for fishing... Huh, What?? I know right!? LOL And when he saw my husband wasn't gonna bite on this bait this boat just happened to appear and was found to be on the back of the lot!

So now we are two for two, we each got one we couldn't keep and we both got one we could keep!
Not that we are keeping score. Maybe he is, because he brought it up! LOL
He said it was the first time he ever caught stripers using a yellow ....think he called it a donkey tail!?
Looked more like a cheer leaders pom pom to me! LOL

Bummer fishful that is was most likely polluted. Sounds like fun feeding though. Water can be tested to know exactly what is or isn't in it. Water testing is pretty inexpensive too.

Blue reminds me of our current dog. He jumps up from sleep on the bed and stares at me if i stir and if and when sleep mask starts to come off he is jumping like a kangaroo at bedroom door to go get some grub

LOL, I got a cat like that I call Dog Bonz. He follows anyone around that is eating and gobbles up any crumbs that are dropped. He even eats popcorn and Planters peanuts! The other day I found him wallowing in reminisce of a dead armadillo carcass acting like he was smelling catnip! I thought ...darn I named him appropriate!

That's bad a$$ I love seeing classics. Here is one I restored in the 90,s. Show me more of yours love it.

Here is/ was what my 99 Mustang, Anniversary edition looked like before my wreck October 17, 2019 and a couple photos of after my wreck..where I put the car on cruise and fell asleep at the wheel and hit the woods doing 55 mph. A wreck that I never should have been able to walk away from having only bruises from the air bag. Plain and simple...The Pure GRACE Of GOD is the only thing that Saved me! Can I get an AMEN!

Is it safe to eat catfish from neighborhood ponds?

When we bought a house on 8 acres of property out in The boonies they had dug a 1\2 acre pond out on the back of the property which they had stocked with catfish and bream and something else and before we moved in we noticed kids from around the area were fishing it and leaving with fish . But when I asked the previous owners if I could swim in the pond that looked like the cover of ZZ Top Rio Grande Mud, they said they haven't and wouldn't. So I got to thinking.... why would I want to eat anything out of a place I couldn't swim in? That and the fact that it must be rather stagnant (right?) since we saw no mechanical signs of aeration. It was being fed by runoff from a creek we were told and from whatever rain we got. So on that note we stopped stocking it and didn't even bother to fish it. The previous owners also told us they had a monster catfish that lived in the pond and I saw it and called him Old Blu. It got to be that when I went to feed the fish in the afternoons Old Blu could hear my foot steps hitting the ground coming toward the pond and he would be anticipating supper! He got so use to me that I almost had him eating the fish pellets out of my hand! LOL He would come up to the bank and when I threw them floating pellets out he was like a big ol submarine he would just open that big wide mouth of his and keep it open as he swam around letting them all flow down his throat in one pass!

.....And on my first cast! Never tried to catch stripers before this season started so I wasn't really sure what all the fuss was about catching these fish.Last time The Professor and I went fishing I managed to catch one on cut herring but couldn't keep it because it was only 19 inches. But the thrill of bringing it into the boat immediately got me hooked and I caught the fever and realized what the fuss was all about! So Halloween afternoon we went out and started fishing near the rocks in the area between the Locks and Short Stay and as we got to the area we stopped the boat but didn't anchor and decided to do some casting as we were still drifting and on my first cast I got a hit! Using something the Professor had bought me last time he was out buying bait at the Bait Shack that caught his eye. After doing some research I believe it is called a flutter spoon. It's sort of oblong , very shiny silver metal on part of it with the other part being blue with metal shiny flecks in it. But if I am wrong please correct me! I know people have caught way bigger fish than this but this is the largest fish I have ever caught,(not counting The Professor I managed to reel in! LOL) my PB! It was so exciting and then after that absolutely nothing , notta, zilch! We both had 3 rods out each baited with a variety of stuff, jello soaked chicken, cut herring, shrimp trying to catch something, anything. And our 4th pole we were using for casting. So I got Treated then Tricked. But you know how it goes....They say.....A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work... or something like that!
LOL
