Very interesting. It has to be the same goose. I wonder if it was someone’s pet of sorts. I couldn’t get rid of it either.
Fishing Montana waters today and I just couldn’t shake this crazy Canadian. Even at 50 Mph it would fly above, next to, in front of, and even land. At times, his butt would be less than a foot in front of my face while traveling. All I could think of is a major “rear end explosion” in my face. Crazy bird stayed within inches of hull for hours. See attached video file.
Oh, fishing was outstanding. Approx 35 smallmouth, all released to fight again. Enjoy video
Naw. Just over flowed their pool and jacuzzi until the pumps could keep up. Wind wasn’t an issue

They are fighters. You need heavier line and definitely a steel leeder. I put out a minnow on a bobber. That rod has 30# test. I cast with a lighter line but use a leeder.
Totally get that… but I’m fishing for bass… and 30 lb plus steel leader is not going to get it. But trust me, not complaining one bit. The strike is vicious and fun to catch. Getting them unhooked is another issue . Hahaha. Kinda reminds me when I was 14. I had a small skiff I would row out to the bait barge in King Harbor in Calif. The barricuda’s were thick, and I could catch all I wanted with a barbless feather doing a figure 8 boat side. I wore waders because the slime was insane. I kept a bucket of rock salt to get slime off my hands so I wouldn’t lose the rod. I would throw about 100 of those slimy suckers into my boat, then sold them to a nearby fish market for .5 cents each. I had a blast, and catching all those pikes brought that memory back 😁

Nice JB!! Pike are a blast to catch! I like eating them too as the meat is nice and form… they make great fish tacos. Thanks for the pics!
I think pike’s were genetically designed and built by lure companies… because I sure lose a ton of tackle all year (and I don’t target them ! ). Lol
Most were 2-3 lbs. several 4 ‘plus. Pike were the water bullies

No ramp. Just a little path cleared to launch off rocks. That’s pretty common here in the northwest. Because we have so many little lakes, and so few people, Montana doesn’t build launching facilities like your use to back in Calif. Hence, they’re FREE unlike how Calif makes you pay (for everything!). There’s no dock of course, just float off and beach while you park. Having a good keel guard is everything !!! You would be surprised how easy 👍
Stoke you caught & released. Nice fish
Beautiful fish. Nice job 😁

Had to be a fun and worn out arms day catching that many big ins!!! You are as close to heaven as you can get as far as fishing goes. And I thought Montana was only for trout and their relatives ? Keep on catching and posting pictures so all us stagers can be envious of your paradise!! I think Garey and I are going to San Vicente this Thursday if it’s not muddy. It has been pouring cats and dogs here in Alpine not too far from San V. Larry W.
Just spoke to my daughter who lives in Canyon Lake, Riverside Ca. It was pouring rain big time. Those SD lakes gonna get some new water
Found a small 200 acre lake about 90 minutes from home. Last 20 miles on gravel/dirt logging roads. Those that know me I primarily target bass, but enjoy getting bit by anything. Well, caught 48 pike (4-12 lbs), and 17 largemouth. Everything came on the chatterbaits except a couple on the frog and 2 on a senko. I’m sure I missed a ton of bass, but the pike were insane. Literally got bit every other cast. Of course lost 3 chatterbaits to those toothy guys. Super fun and all fish released. Oh, never even fired up the big engine either. Lol
Excellent job my friend. That’s a lot of fish ! Celebrate and then get on track for another thousand 😉 P.S. been catching a few of my own up here too. Fished 17 different lakes this season all within 45 minutes of my house. Found a really really really remote lake lost in the mountains supposedly loaded with bass. Guess I’ll know by Monday. Lol. Keep the passion alive. Oh yeah, you’re gonna get a record dump of rain come Monday. Keep your rig ready in case you need to leave the house. Lol 😉
And don’t forget to put him back… I promise it will get bigger and meaner 😉
