You don't happen to be a pattern maker do you?

I'm not an expert by any means but its hard to beat Rapala, just make sure to keep it sharp.

That makes a difference, I think that the age is 18 and I'm way beyond that.

That may be for military, I know I need a license.

I'm not sure of various laws or agreements but if cross any state lines you might need additional licenses. You might even need a Canadian license and an Indian permit for part of Lake St Clair. Do your homework, some of the penalties are a real PITA.

I don't know but willing to guess. A well equipped hobby shop probably has model paint in numerous colors and as far as the sparkles are concerned, add a little glitter on top of the paint before it dries, then maybe a clear coat on top of that. The nail polish idea might be a good one too.

Like I said, I have moved on to other places and I was not aware of what has happened recently. Very unfortunate, I taught my daughters how to fish there and over the years took home more than a few dinners. Over those years I noticed that management caused more than a few changes. As usual, man made changes were not well researched, resulting in spoiling a fun lake.
BTW, we are neighbors, I live about 15-20 minutes from the lake

Last I heard, Kent Lake in Oakland County has a "DO NOT EAT" order due to some local industrial pollution. I had fished the lake for many years but that order was the end for me. It may be open now but I have moved my fishing to other areas. BTW, I drove by yesterday and did not see anyone fishing or boats on the water.

I keep my cars in the garage but have full size garage door into backyard, when I had my boat on a trailer I simply put it in the backyard covered. Secure safe and ready to go when I was. Current boat stays in the water, 29 ft and about 5 tons, can't tow it but ready to go when I'm ready.

I'm actually a little south of those areas but they are all well within reach. You actually hit the nail on the head with your information and I will definitely try those areas. I have already learned some of the things about Lake Erie, the beauty and how ugly it can be when the wind kicks up from the wrong direction. Thanks for the information, I'll try to put it to good use. Have a good season and stay safe.

I'm a newer regular to the area and will probably get out next week for the first time this year. We caught a few walleye last year drifting then got into perch pretty well but all was mostly lucky guessing. I love to fish and basically fish for dinner. I used to fish inland lakes but we have a pollution problem so got a bigger boat for bigger water. Perch and walleye are great but I would like to get into crappies bluegills too, but don't know where to start. I'm sure they would be bigger on the big lakes, any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated. Thanks for any help you can provide.
