When high and dirty in the PNW we generally want something that addressed smell, sound and sight. One good option is a double spoon with a wee bit of smelly jelly. Probably first choice is a spinner that rattles with some scent on the hook. An option on the hook is to change to a single trailing hook either by adding a swivel or a tag line.

Here in the PNW we sometimes add powerbait to the hooks on spinners and spoons when we are fishing for salmon or steelhead. Seems to work at times. Add color and scent and may get the munchers to hold longer.

Caught a 16# hen and a jack in two days at Hanford Reach and I was one of the SUCCESSFUL ones. State checked six boats after docking - four zeros, one with one, our boat had three. Tough times!

Bought a reel advertised as an Okuma. Received a Chinese reel that may have been worth 20% of what I paid. If I wanted to return it for a refund, they required me to send it to China at my expense even though the shipping address was New Jersey. Saving grace was that I paid for it with PayPal. Will not fall for Wish ads again.

Will be going to Victoria/Sidney next week now that the border has been opened for vaccinated Americans. Any suggestions for bank fishing in that area and what is running now? Thank you.

There are casting floats. The ones I use are clear and small. Fill with the amount of water you need for neutral buoyancy and there is no impediment to lure action.
