Another stager, Passingby, gave me the idea for this post by saying he had used Spam on a trotline.
This year I plan catch catfish using the Jug method.
As for mentioned Spam could be used as a possible bait. I'm also considering using broiling beef. A local pantry gives it away when farmers butcher their cattle and don't want that cut of meat 🥩
I generally cut in 1 inch squares and make some killer craklins.
I was wondering what other baits could be used for Jug fishing.

We [Hutch and a neighbor] started with white wine, I grilled salmon and had cheese, crackers, crudites, etc. Then Neighbor brought red so drank that, he also brought Warsteiner beer but I know better than to mix that. Then going outside at midnight with the neighbors I took a bottle of bubbly which we shared and they were passing around Chivas Regal Apple. That was my mistake. Headache. Fun tho!!!

YEP, headache thats how I kept my resolution.

1/2/24 Oyster shucking was my product for this morning. I bought a oysters shucking knife. Then bought eight oysters. Went to Marina and tried for the first time to shuck oysters. I got six opened and they tasted very good. But two of the oysters I couldn't open. I just couldn't get the knife to go in. And my hands were freezing. I think next time I'm going to buy large oysters. They might be easier to shuck. Well freezing winter is here, and so are the Gizzard Shad, and the Winter Sea Gulls. After they leave the fishing will be good again.

I'm jealous our oyster beds have been closed do to the 10 inch rainstorm that came thru 3 week or so ago. Do your self a favor the next time you get oysters, pop one open place in a small glass, add some cocktail sauce on top add a dash of hot sauce, just cover with the beer of your liking. SHOOTER Do not use vodka, That is what you get when order an oyster shooter at a bar. YUK. You can thank me later

I am with you Gordon. South Carolina is a wonderful place to live, that is why all of the Northerners that moved down to Florida are moving halfway back home to SC [AKA HALFBACKS] there is great weather year round. we have the best of both, Salt and Freshwater fishing, Lakes Moultry, Marion, Murry to name a few, lets not forget all of the river system's, the black, Waccamaw, Intracoastal, Sampit, rivers. All in the back yard. And then of course there is the front yard, the big Ol Atlantic. Oh yea we get about 1 in. of snow every 10 years or so
