Hello stagers,
Here a subject that I hope will get a varied response from everyone.
Where in the United States is the best place to live.
I'll leave this post open until Christmas eve.

I have lived in California, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri and now Nebraska. Of these I say Missouri has been the best state with the southern MO Ozarks being the specific location. We have been away from there for over 35 years but know that when we go and visit there this summer that there are old friends who would take us in and pick up our conversation from the last time we saw them.
Where ever you are or were happy ☺️.
Growing up I loved living on a farm, the work, the animals, the responsibility, the working with and treated like a equal by Dad.
Raising my family and seeing them married, baby sitting grandkids in Western Montana.
Now back in house I was raised in with the stock long gone and fields leased out, watching family all living their own lives as mine winds down... it's all good 😊
It's like a good wife. If you are happy!

Where I live at I think is the best place. Some may not agree with me and think where they live is the best place. And I might disagree with them. I can't agree with a government survey that is going to tell me where they think it is. Just saying.

I think the greatest place to live can evolve through one’s life. It was a blast living in Southern California at 18 yrs old for about 6 years. It was where I went right out of school. Went to work for Ford as Automotive Mechanic Apprentice. Had formal training. Then went into Envelope Machine Plant and became a Manager. LA and Orange County was fun Beach.. Concerts in Hollywood. I met a bunch of stars and many many professional athletes. Went to Jimmy Buffet shows. But later I think Central or South Central Oregon Coast would be best now.. as retiree. Fishing and mild climate.. no traffic etc
I want to go buy a Coastal Paradise but for a bungalow it’s 3/4 million because it’s paradise.
I wouldn’t EVER want to live in High Humidity or even High Temperature Desert again. I grew up in 115f 2/3 of the year.

I have seen all the compare and despair statistics online consistently. They show what state has income tax etc… income needed. I know what you mean.
I just got back from Costa Rica, could never live in that environment. Couldn't wait to step off the plane into some Pennsylvania cold weather. I really like the four seasons we have here

Born and raised in Michigan. Love the four seasons and the Great Lakes. However, my grandkids are in Hillsboro Oregon, and that area is beautiful. Spend as much time as I can there.
I was born in Southeastern Indiana on the Ohio river lived there till I was 4 moved to southeastern Ohio and started kindergarten here and have not left. I love the four seasons 👍

Grew up spearfishing, surfing, sailing and fishing on the shores of Hawaii. Average temp year round was about 85, and water temp 75-85. What is a coat anyway? Once you get accepted by the Hawaiians and become Ohana, it is hard to beat.
Perfect place now would be to take the weather from Hawaii and put it it Montana!!

I am with you Gordon. South Carolina is a wonderful place to live, that is why all of the Northerners that moved down to Florida are moving halfway back home to SC [AKA HALFBACKS]
there is great weather year round. we have the best of both, Salt and Freshwater fishing, Lakes Moultry, Marion, Murry to name a few, lets not forget all of the river system's, the black, Waccamaw, Intracoastal, Sampit, rivers. All in the back yard. And then of course there is the front yard, the big Ol Atlantic. Oh yea we get about 1 in. of snow every 10 years or so
Despite the piss poor leadership in Lansing, Michigan is a great state to live and play in. Beautiful lakes, 4 seasons, rivers, Hills with snow skiing + more !!
