Fishing Alaska
I'm extremely envious. Our Alaska trip to some of the same places you mention got canked last year because all the complexities of the Covid testing matrix just got to be too much to navigate. Don't know when we'll get another chance, but I'm sure glad you guys had a great time. Good on ya.

Best places within 1-2 hrs. From Fredericksburg for fishing & crabbing or both at same time
I've spent a fair amount of time getting skunked at Lake Anna.

Doing good
First string the line thru the hook eye, then double back and string it thru the other way. It's the only way my thumbs can get loop thru a hook eye, one line at a time.

Looking for easy access from shore, with no steep banks, in Helena
I'm getting ready to have a go at Canyon Ferry east of town, but in my research I came across a website that claimed Lake Helena just northeast of town is mostly fished from the shore with what they claim are pretty fair results.

Is there a Lake Pueblo in PA? I've fished a Pueblo Reservoir outside of Pueblo, CO a few times. Never had any great luck. I'd rather hit Trinidad Lake (reservoir) a little farther south.
