I LOVE rain fishin. I've said it before but it's worth repeating my wife's remark - the fish are already wet!

The best bass I've caught when I was 15,
Was during a thunderstorm, know what I mean?
When rain's in the area, thundering low,
My worm starts its twitchin, ready to go.
A window is open right now in the sky,
I'm fightin the fish urge, I cannot deny.
I have common sense, tho, so go I will not,
But I bet you, Stagers, that fishin is hot!

If it’s just rain, I would go fishing.
Lightening is another thing. Holding a graphite rod in my hand would make me a lightening rod for sure.

Hello Stagers.
Just want to thank you all for being good hearted, well meaning people. I feel lucky to have this site to check into every morning as it almost always presents some positive thoughts or at least a funny one and so much brain candy to start the day.
Thank you!!

I totally agree. Well stated.
Thanks to you too.

Going in the morning for some cats. Hope they cooperate. Post tomorrow how I do.

Good luck, Gordon. I hope the kitties cooperate, but just getting out is a win. Enjoy your day and take pictures.

With all the work being done on the Key Bridge, I'm hoping that the Cat fish have come out of the channel.
I'll find out. Fishing is still better than sitting at home, but I'd rather be catching.

Good luck. I’m hopin’ you’re catching too. I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures.

I've have buzz baits and want to buy a whopper plopper for bass & northern pike.

Can I use a swivel and leader with these or should I tie them on directly? If so what lb. test should I use?

If you could buy one whopper plopper what color? In Youtube videos I often see the one that looks like a perch.

Thanks

I have two Choppos by Berkeley. I have the Maverick and the Perfect Ghost. Both are 90 size weighing in at 1/2 ounce. They were about $4 cheaper than the Whopper Plopper and both catch fish. I use the the dark color in low light and darker days. Light color on bright days, but I have switched up at times with success.

I fully agree, Frank. I admit it is easier now that I am older and retired.
