The Calm before the craziness.

I am sorry. The world BBQ cook off is held at the Reliant Center, Houston Texas. Y'all come see me. I can't get you into the fairgrounds but all the cook tents are private invitation only. All of the food drinks and fun are free once you get in a tent. I will be working the waste management gazebo and that I can get you into.

I won't be able to fish till Monday, but I'm not sad. I am part of a BBQ cook team that gets to compete in the world championship BBQ cook off Houston Texas. Our team is team firecraft. Waste Management is our sponsor. We will also be cooking 4 1300 employees over three days. Breakfast and dinner Thursday Friday and Saturday. I am so excited! Last year we took number 35 in the world brisket and number 17 in beans. With 360 teams competing. We can do a lot better. We must! I will keep you all posted and send you beautiful pictures of the best barbecue in the world! You know I'm going to reply with the cheapest option and the most expensive option. The Shimano Black Max combo at Academy around $60 and it's pretty nice. My second rod and reel combo was the H2O angler combo from Academy and this out performs my black max it's amazing! Then the absolute best! The one I think every fisherman should have is the Shimano SLX DC 150 it has a computer chip in it that automatically adjust the brake mechanism 1000 X a second! This thing is amazing! No more backlashing or loose spools. Unless you use setting number one that basically just let it run free. It lets you cast a quarter ounce jig 60 yards. It's amazing but this real alone is $189 and it has paid for itself in less than a week. Even if you can't afford it Google it and watch the videos.

Yeah, I don't know when the weather is going to break and water starts getting warmer 4 spawn in Texas.? People around me tell me then I'm not going to believe the fishing action! Will be my first year fishing in the spring.

So this is my catfish Secret. I have never been skunk while using this setup. It brings the big ones in-stock ponds! Use a bottom bouncer found at Academy Sports for under $2. A package of number three odd snelled hooks. Primo super sticky blood catfish bait, you get it at Walmart for like $4 Canadian nightcrawlers you can get them at Academy also. Set up your rig. You have to put the snelled hooks on it what this rig does is suspend your bait 6 inch off the bottom. Thread a hole Nightcrawler on each hook. Don't skimp and used a half of a crawler! Get a stick and add a little water to the top of your blood bait then stir your crawler in your in your sticky solution. Before You cast dip your baits in the water real quick it helps to set up the blood bait. Cast out into deep water and you are sure to get the catfish biting! Especially when you get the blood bait mixed around in the water.

I went to fish planterville Texas today I caught 10 fish. Biggest one at 4 lb. I used my new real 2 cast 60 yards out. The fish still haven't moved in yet
