I've found an old tackle box while cleaning out storage shed that had a bunch of Z-RAY lures probably from 30yrs ago. Does anybody still use them ? I'm guessing only for Trout, I fish in southern AZ at lakes that have both Trout and Bass, maybe I can still use them. Any comments are welcome. Thx. CACTUS JACK.
Z-Ray has to be one of my all time favorites. A great troller or caster for trout. I recall a great day walking the Salt River above Roosevelt lake and catching a mixed bag of SM, LM, and channel cat. Since I moved to OK, I use the silver 1/8 oz on schooling white bass. Still a great lure in imho! The only reason I would stop using the Z-Ray is if I ran out, but I see that someone has revived it: http://www.zraylures.com/
I use a very small snap swivel and you have to remember to feather your cast a bit to keep the hook from tangling.
