I've always used Trilene Green without any problems. Less visible? Maybe, but how can you really tell? It is consistent and easy to work with. More important is to tie a good knot.

I've found an old tackle box while cleaning out storage shed that had a bunch of Z-RAY lures probably from 30yrs ago. Does anybody still use them ? I'm guessing only for Trout, I fish in southern AZ at lakes that have both Trout and Bass, maybe I can still use them. Any comments are welcome. Thx. CACTUS JACK.

Z-Ray has to be one of my all time favorites. A great troller or caster for trout. I recall a great day walking the Salt River above Roosevelt lake and catching a mixed bag of SM, LM, and channel cat. Since I moved to OK, I use the silver 1/8 oz on schooling white bass. Still a great lure in imho! The only reason I would stop using the Z-Ray is if I ran out, but I see that someone has revived it: http://www.zraylures.com/
I use a very small snap swivel and you have to remember to feather your cast a bit to keep the hook from tangling.

Welcome, Jack. I lived in Tucson until 2013 and fished the area lakes for 35 years. I am quite familiar with Arivaca, Patagonia and Roosevelt. Let me know if I can help you get back in the swing of things. Do you have a boat (yet)?

I lived in Tucson for most of my life and fished Central Arizona extensively. There are great opportunities in the area but you have to drive a bit. Good warm water fisheries are Roosevelt, Apache and San Carlos Lakes. If you are healthy you can walk the Salt River ( more like a creek) above Roosevelt Lake when it is safe.
Further north a bit are the White Mountains with plenty of trout lakes and streams. See Pinetop and ShowLow on a map. Get some road maps, topo and lake maps, gas up at that overpriced station and go exploring.
