Can you take a picture from the opposite side of the room or turn the rods so we can see what you are throwing? Thanks.

With respect to the visibility of braided line, you can use a black permanent marker and mark your line up a few feet from the lure/bait right to the knot. I take a plastic knife and cut a ridge in the middle of the marker and run the marker across the line.

I have never thought about the vibrations being an issue, btw. This is something to consider...

Eddie,

Where are you in the Boston area? N, S or West of Boston? Thanks.

Kastking makes a decent telescopic spinning/casting rod (in different lengths that are MH or M power) called the Blackhawk II. These receive good ratings on Amazon -- 4.5 stars. I am probably going to get one for baitcasting myself in the next week.

Agreed. I would also keep the brakes on a high setting until you get used to the Baitcaster (probably 80% or higher at first). After some extensive practice and when you are completely comfortable you should reduce the brakes. However, even when you are comfortable with the baitcaster (and reduce the brake tension) ALWAYS follow the above advice from Oldmandan regarding drag to reduce any bird's nests.

Good luck.

I presume that you are fishing for LM Bass. My initial opinion is that I would use topwater lures, such as frogs. Weedless wacky rigged soft plastic worms for intermediate depths and texas rigged worms with heavy weight tungsten to punch through the weeds to get to the bottom. if the vegetation is really thick I would use 30lb (or stronger) braid that you will need to pull the fish out of the weeds.

Good luck.
