Agreed. If they can't do that for which they were elected, then we must UN-elect them.

Well, the very first thing we Washingtonians must do is prevent Inslee's third term as Governor. Since these semi-private replies have become more politics than fishing, I'll put my two-cents in - again. Don't vote for a Democrat - I know, I know, here in WA, voting for a Republican is like a salmon swimming up river. There! I've combined politics and fishing. Point is, if you want things the way they were before Jan 1, 2020, you must remove from office all those pols who want to restrict you even more; those who are in the majority party of WA government, namely Dems. Forget Seattle, though. For the most part, they've never met a Dem or a tax they didn't like!

Quite so, or at least the thugs in power are... the vast numbers of Chinese know only what their warlords tell them, most have no source of outside info and are effectively "brainwashed"... and unarmed. That being said, the foremost lesson we should learn, or should have, is that the USA is utterly dependent on the Chicoms for 85% of manufactured drugs and raw materials; and that it was a mistake made starting in the '80's to outsource our manufacturing jobs to them. Now we must "incentivize" American business to return production and jobs to America. One of the results of this, other than making America prosperous, will be the economic downfall of China, perhaps causing civil unrest and ultimately the destruction of the commie gov't there. May be pie in the sky big picture stuff, but it could happen. And we Americans should understand that we HAVE BEEN attacked, along with the rest of the western world, and we are at war... even if CON-gress hasn't declared one. The only one they seem to declare war on is Trump.

We've been in overt war with them since January. ".... Make ready!...."

FINALLY! Someone who sees the hidden potential (agenda) of the "Government"... the stripping of civil rights and liberties. The entire response to Covid-19 has been one of over-reaction to instill fear and reliance on government.

How ironic!... you were in Seattle and went to Cali... I grew up in Costa Mesa, went to SD for a job at Rohr, got married.. and then moved up to PNW to work at Mother B!
No, I spent most of my body surfing youth on the peninsula around 15th street. About a 20 minute bike ride from home. Tee shirt, shorts, flip-flops... certainly no dang bike helmet! We still survived... Dad used to surf fish, too... One day we were on the peninsula and Dad hooked a .... seagull! Seemed to be the only one around at the time, but within about one minute, the sky was full of 'em, trying to protect a mate, I guess. Dad reeled it in, struggled to get the hook out and when he finally did, the bird flew off out to sea and within a minute - no birds at all! We wet on several fishing trips out of either Art's Landing or Davy's Locker in Newport, usually for rock cod. we'd come back with a winter's stock of filets and gave some away. Those were fun times.

Sorry for your lost.
I started high school in Huntington Beach in 1960.

Thanks. 3/25 was the 22nd anniversary of his passing. Today (4/2) is the 22nd anniv of my wife's Mom's passing! The 90's are referred to in our family as the death decade"! I attended Servite High School in Anaheim from 1966 to 1970. SoCal was a great place to grow up. Moved to the PNW in 1989. I know this is a fishing site, so we won't dally on the death thing further. Went fishing over the years with my Da and enjoyed being with him and on the water. We were much alike in that regard. My older brother, not so much. but that is a long story from 1961! But as we got older and I got into the aircraft industry, I found myself unable to go out with him. Moved my budding family to Puget Sound in 1989 and have been here ever since, except for 2 1/2 years of Misery in MO. Came back in 2018 and retired just last Aug. Now I have a project boat to rebuild and when done expect to go fishing again after the long hiatus - which is why I subscribe to this site - it's full of information! I'm sure the grand kids will love it, too. How 'bout you? Still in SoCal?

Bought these two penn reels ones a 209 level wind the other is a 180 I spent a whole $15 on both. figure if nothing else they will add weight to the boat anchor.

I was thinking about just making them into jig rods for walleyes.

My Dad had two of those Penn Senators which he used back in the '60's and '70's off SoCal fishing for tuna. Came across them at my Mom's in Pittsburgh. A wee bit of corrosion, mostly cosmetic, but they work perfectly. Dad passed away 22 years ago. We used to go fishing together out of Newport Beach. I miss him.

Were you confusing boxes? Did you mean the ballot box or the bullet box?

Years ago, I was in "free" Hong Kong with a friend visiting his family. We went on a road tour of New Territories and stopped to eat late afternoon. Of course, with the meal, we were served tea. I noticed no one was drinking the tea. We had several kinds of seafood at dinner, much of which was eaten by hand. Our hands stank. I was going to drink some tea when my friend said it was not for drinking. At the end of the meal, everyone started dipping their hands in the tea which caused me to ask why. I was told it was to remove the fish smell from our hands. It worked. I still dip my fingers in the tea when eating out in Chinese restaurants if I've eaten any fish by hand. Try it.

I understand they're off-limits to fishing, but the chum started coming up the creek that flows into the Union River and runs across our front yard. Saw a female yesterday (our first sighting!) making her way up and took video! Other'n that, I haven't fished for salmon since 1990, but now that I'm retired, I should have more time. Sooooomebody out there in Kitsap - Give this man an answer! I'd like to know, too!
