Bought these two penn reels ones a 209 level wind the other is a 180 I spent a whole $15 on both. figure if nothing else they will add weight to the boat anchor.
I was thinking about just making them into jig rods for walleyes.
Weight nothing...those can be fixed & are great reels...

Great find.
I bought a Penn Senator red 4/0 for $15 at an estate sale. Also a Sabre Dimond wrapped rod there for $15.

I understand Penn is a brand that parts are always available regardless of age. Good find!
I have a Penn 309 that belonged to my dad which works really well. I went to reelschematic.com and got the schematic for it and printed it out, went to YouTube and found a video on cleaning and lubing the reel. I disassembled the reel, cleaned and lubed it and reassembled it. Still works great! If you need parts they should be available from authorized penn dealers.
If you disassemble the reel, put the parts on a cloth or paper towel in the sequence they come off the reel that way you will know what sequence they have to go back on. I had to watch the YouTube video again to figure out how to reassemble one partake after watching it everything went together as expected.
They are some of the best bottom fishing reels around. They last forever. I have a Penn Delmar that I bought with birthday money in 1955 and it still works perfectly.

Unless you're a dyslexic ambidextrous amnesia case like me use a numbered egg cartoon...

Concur...I have one got it about the same time frame and several others. Still use them & now getting them ready for the grand kids. My old solid fiberglass rod is still my favorite rod for bottom fishing with the old Penn reel still on it.

The rod I used with that reel is split bamboo. Gores back to 1954 or 55. I got that instead of the first Chevy Corvette. ☺☺
Ahh 55 I was on a tricycle...but had a rod & reel bigger than I was. Got many fish on that sucker. Mostly rock fish & porgies fishing in Long Island.

Guess I was just barely figuring out what girls were. Most of my catches were sea bass porgies cod and whiting, and flounder in the summer
Oh I knew what girls were they were the pretty things in dresses...
