Thanks Langer. It's been a blast. Went again this morning. I caught 13 this morning .One I weighed in at 2.2 lbs (with me and the fish on my bathroom scales. Need to get a good digital fish scales . My fishen buddy caught19. We weighed his biggest and it was 2.4 lbs
They were about 90 % males and 10% females with eggs. They were on spawning beds with both sexes working hard to find love.
I would think in another couple days they will be done with the spawn and move on to another area. I couldn't believe the numbers of fish congregated in one area.

They were caught by me and my fishen buddy. From shore using nightcrawlers in about 5 to 10 ft of water. I think they were pre spawn nest buildings since they were all males.

the cement drop off edge of the boat ramp. Went back 2 days later caught 4
gills again about the size of the ones pictured
