Even here in central California it's very cold! For me and the Mrs anyway! It got down in the 30a last nite. To make matters worse, the convection blower on my Pellet Pro stove died last nite! So I am now waiting for a replacement blower from Amazon, supposed to be here by Wednesday I hope. We do have central heat that runs on natural gas anyway, but we are paying high prices for NG here in california.

I don't think it's what you would call exotic, but my brother in Wisconsin sends me a cheese pack from Widmers cheese company there. My favorite is their Brick cheese and a brick cheese spread they also make. I can't find Brick cheese here in Cali!

Little Caesars vegetarian pizza. Bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms.
The pizza will last me a couple of days.

Tried little caesars once! Only because it's cheap! It was disgusting! Almost as bad as frozen pizza! My dog didn't even like it!

They did it on lake Winnibago when I was child to remove Carp and Suckers from the lake. I remember seeing huge wooden floating pens full of carp and Suckers in the harbor at Fond du Lac. Don't know what they did with them?

Thanks for all the info on barbless hooks my friends. I think I will try to buy some online if I can find small enough ones. I target trout most times so they need to be small sizes. The circle hooks sound good I have not even seen a game warden for at least 20 years here in cali? For what we pay for a license You would think they would be everywhere!

Just get some pliers and squish the barb down good luck

Don't know if that would be acceptable to a game warden?

I would like to fish an area on the Merced river that is artificial baits and barbless hooks only. Catch and release. What is the best way to remove the barb from a hook?File, grind or cut it off? How much harder is it to land a fish with a barbless hook? Never done this before.

Did you spray it on the inside of outside of your boat? I believe that's the same year as mine. A gift from wife when we first married! Didn't want me to leave I guess?

If you use flex seal make sure surfus is extra clean to bare metal.

Yes I also used flex seal spray on along all seams front to back. It did not stop the leaks completely but maybe helped a little. It may be better to use the paint on type instead of spray?

I have a 40 yr old sears smokercraft 12 ft aluminum boat. I use it for small bodies of water with an electric motor. This boat leaks and I have to bail a lot just to keep my feet dry. I have tried sealing the seams with the TV guys (Phil) products but it has not helped. Anyone have any ideas on how to deal the seams?

Thanks everyone. Yes I am very proud of Anthony! He has been fishing with his dad and me since he was about 4 yrs old. This is his first year fishing from a kayak and he is getting pretty good at it! That lightning trout would have been a PB for me! I have never caught one and I am 74 yrs old! It was caught in the Merced river just below Mcswain dam. I think a lot of fish were washed out of the lake when they opened the spillway on the far side of the dam to make major water releases to control lake levels this past spring. We caught a lot of 14-16 in rainbows trolling with wedding rings, early morning and at sunset.

I just wanted to post a couple of pictures from my grandson(Anthony) of his great fishing adventure this past summer. The first picture is of him holding a large barracuda! He caught it in the Azores while visiting his other grandpa. The other picture he is holding a lightning trout (22" )caught that one in a kayak! His dad was at his side to assist him. This is his first year of kayak fishing. He is 10 yrs old
