Either one is big enough to go camping with.
Sometimes a BB gun might be the better tool...
They are there at the mouth of the Clack.
Little grubs and darts.
So, I just passing along some information from a guy that I know who has been fishing a number of the lakes around here. He was just at Detroit reservoir yesterday. Got a number of trout a couple 15 to 17 in. He put them all back. Because they looked unhealthy. He figures they were planted in there no more than 10 days ago. How could they become like that? How's my question to all of you. Has anyone out there noticed this. He does not want to eat trout if the meat is mushy.
Sound off guys. He tells me that there are a number of different hatcheries that are supplying these lakes. Not just the ODFW.
I have some friends that were there recently as well. And they caught a mess of 10 inchers as well. 😊
Heck yeah. That sounds good, thanks 😊
That afternoon, a couple guys came down with steelhead gear (like I usually use). I remember one guy fighting one the same time I was. We were up and down and around the main river and this big wide Eddie beside the hole and the rocks up against the cliff. As we crossed paths. When I was all said and done we were both re-tieing. They were all big hogs that day. Never had another day like that!
This one goes back 20 years. Salmon River at Otis. Down at Lincoln City. This small River doesn't grow them this big anymore. The hole I caught these two in was closed to the public long ago. Was a hella day.
Big one went 42 LB. The other was 30 something. I fought one in there for a half an hour before losing it. God knows how big it was. I fished with 8 ft Lamiglass, 30 lb super braid and Garcia Ambassadeur 6000.

Never have ate Skate. Did you batter fry it?
Anybody recognize this? Sandy, OR
Although this pic looks like the Willamette. This Chinook is way bigger than any June hog I've heard of in the Columbia for years! Clearly two to three times larger than any Spring Chinook that has ever been caught! 😶
Springers are in at the mouth of the Wind River and Drano lake.
In the past we have fished into early June. And I'm hearing this year's run is late, so...
