Thank you for the link. I am bookmarking it.

I believe this was a largemouth and not Alabama. Reason for this is location of mouth hinge which you could not see in photo

I was the WRD trout biologist in that area, now retired since 2008. Living in sw Virginia now. Thanks for the invite, but I have plans for mid June with some Potomac river smallmouths! Maybe some other time. Check with the local Trout unlimited chapters for more up-to-date info. I think there is a Blue Ridge chapter.

You can find easier sections along most streams. Coopers, wildcat, and Tallulah will have the most easy areas in sections where the road runs along side them.

Check with the GA WRD website for trout stocking info. The part of Amicalola on the WMA is a delayed harvest stream that opens to harvest on May 15 IIRC. lots of other trout streams in N Ga. Coopers creek, Noontootla, Tahlulah River Wildcat creek, and Chattahooche River are just a few.

Call or visit the USCOE office. They probably have a map with the ramps on it.

Lots of yakkers there. Long paddle to the fishing grounds. Many use trolling motors or powered yaks

Slack tide occurs at high or low tide. The current slows then reverses direction and slowly picks up speed. happens twice a day. Google "tide tables sebastian inlet" changes about an hour each day.

Dont worry too much about the crowds, find a gap and set up shop. The couple of hours around slack tide seem best to me. The tide can be very strong at times, try fishing on the beach side then.
