That's nice KJ. Start this as a new post so everyone will see it. Only people who have responded to this post will get those pictures

I was just scrolling thru this thread, not responding, and I got the pics.
But yes, a catch like this deserves its own new thread!

Ok, a role model - and some really nice fish. I assume you left out of San Diego?

No, it's Oxnard, an hour's drive up the coast from Los Angeles.
Great catches, and now I'VE got the"bug"! ('scuze me while I'm off to Google that boat...)

Congratulations! That's great that they're swapping out the trolling motor, and adding the passenger-side sonar.
Gonna be super-useful having a second set of eyes on the screen.
I bought my Lowe at the height of the pandemic shortages, so they couldn't swap or delete anything.
I'm selling my 12v Motorguide w/foot pedal if anybody's interested, btw. Fresno area.

You're welcome. The last time I fished that area was before Power Bait hit the market. I caught trout in the Kern by floating Zeke's thru the rapids. A floating bait was amazing to us, since all we had before that floated was marshmallows!

I don't have any firsthand report, but Western Outdoor News has a great report on Isabella. It's under Southern California Freshwater.
Good luck!

For me it was, "The Eagle has Landed". I was 8 years old watching it on a Black and White TV at my grandmother's house with all of the aunts and cousins. I remember the audio delay and grainy pictures. I remember thinking what it must have been like to have been my grandmother's age and to see us land on the moon. I remember how the entire world felt that success as if we were all one nation.

Then in 1986 to watch the Space Shuttle explode and thinking something is wrong with the C-band dish. This can't be happening! It was too surreal for my mind to grasp for several minutes, Just Stunning!

Interesting topic Kerry.

Thanks,

BD

Moon landing also. 7 years old, and had a big poster of those 3 on my door.

Don't worry, there's more to come. Every time I try to Google "Lowe" to go to the web site or find parts, up comes "Lowe's" home improvement stores!
Your top end with the XS should be higher (depending on prop) than my standard, as I believe a higher redline is the main difference between them. I've had 46 mph (on gps) one or 2 times, shortly after break-in, but it was on glassy water with it trimmed way up. Usually I get about 43 or 44. I have a 4 blade aluminium prop that came on it. I have the factory Bimini top up all summer, and 30 is about the most I do or risk damaging the top. My boat has the huge walk thru windshield, btw.

Congrats on the new boat, but isn't it a LOWE, not Lund, 1775 Fishing Machine?
I got the same model, but with the standard 115, in November of 2020 and have had a great time with it. It's so easy to trailer and launch, (my 15 year old daughter can pilot it on and off the trailer), and it takes all kinds of bumps, beaching and dock bashing without showing any dents or scratches. We probably do more tubing than fishing in the summer, and the teenagers love the speed. Since the dealer is a 300 mile round trip from me I've had to work out a few bugs myself, and changed out the sonar and trolling motor and added a ladder and rod holders. PM me if you think I can help with any setup.
Tight Lines!

Nice purchase Larry, Raleigh’s are a very nice bike!

I agree. I'm still riding the Raleigh Pointe I bought new in 1988. Put a rack on the back, velcro your rods along the top tube, and you can get way back to the good fishing holes!

Hi Fiesty, I can't answer you directly, but try the FresnoBee.com Outdoor section for this week's fish report. Also Sportsman's Warehouse has a huge chalkboard at the entrance with lots of local reports. They also post them online.
Good luck

Yep, the last time I was at Skinner (20+, years), I caught my biggest rainbow ever on a half an anchovy!
Yet every fish report I read tells you which color Power Bait you're gonna need. Glitter-no glitter, etc....🤔

We have an inherited 2010 CR-V with 65k miles. No issues, but I'll agree that the gas mileage is subpar. Low twenties, which to me is terrible for what it is. Looks like the recent ones average in the high twenties, so that's great if you're shopping newer. Like another suggested here, I too would compare it to the RAV4 4 and Subaru.

Sometime in the late eighties, when they were still pretty new, (to me at least --I'd never seen one), while fishing off Sam Clemente Island a couple of FA18 Hornets did the "straight up and out of sight" thing for our boat's viewing pleasure.
I've had F16's do the same trick when riding my bike thru the desert while on my way to fishing. Always a treat.

Topped off at a Circle K in Atascadero, CA last night for $5.45 for regular, and I passed a Chevron that was $6.69 for premium, and $6.79 for diesel!

My uncle was an A4 pilot during Vietnam so I had a couple of those 20mm dummies to play with.
(They're probably buried in the yard of my childhood home along with some green army men and parts of Major Matt Mason!)
