Was so nice to be out fishing at Sonoma lake this morning!! It was 58 degrees with cloud cover when I got there at 7:00am. I started out in a spot that I don’t fish much, but I new there was a drop off there with rocks! And sure enough they were biting, caught 3 small mouth and 1 large mouth this morning at Sonoma lake, I left the lake at 11:30am. Nothing big today but I sure miss catching small mouth bass. For there size they put up a good fight! The water level is lower then the last time I was at the lake, but you can still launch a boat safely and there’s plenty of water to enjoy what’s left of the lake!! Got to Spring Lake this morning at 6:30 it was cool 53 degrees and cloudy, went to my spot that has been real fishy, well it did not disappoint, on my second cast I caught a nice Bass! The clouds never cleared up, usually it will clear up mid morning and the fishing gets better when the sun comes out. Well the fish dint seem to mind the clouds, after a few more fan cast I got into another nice Bass! After what seemed like a hour I hooked into the biggest one of the day! Great fight into the trees then got caught up on a log got her out to have her dart in to the Reeds! Some how I got her in! What a fun day at Spring Lake! Caught them all on a rubber craw! On Sunday got the chance again to go on a hike with my oldest daughter in the high country. This lake sits at 9200 ft elevation and as you can see had some recent snow. I’m so grateful that I can still do these things with my kids, and that I instilled the love of the outdoors in them. Last photo is my oldest, not a Montana pic though.

Oh btw caught some nice cutthroats but no pics sorry. I know, I know no proof. But you guys know I catch once in awhile, haha.

We had a great time at our family get together in Wisconsin. The house we rented was on a private lake with a nice sandy beach, kayaks, canoe, paddle boat - it was a perfect spot. Liam and my granddaughter Emmi caught a mess of crappie and learned to filet and cook them, thanks to the property caretaker. Yum! Even though they only see each other once a year, Liam and Emmi are thick as thieves and spent every minute together, most of it fishing. My little three year old grandson Turner caught his very first fish, and so did my sister in law! Both were super excited and hilarious. Two more family members hooked for life. Wish we all lived closer to each other, but we’re close in heart and mind, and we made some good memories while we were together. I’ll be smiling over this for a long time.

We got out to the fishin grounds bout 0715 and wasn't long till we had a short in the boat. Then another one.
Kept getting shorts at first but we finally started catchin some bigger fish.
I think we had 5 fish in the first hour, maybe 6.
Started out castin lures as usual and then the water started getting to low so we had to go to trollin.
Think we had 15 total count from castin and then 10 from trollin. I'm not sure. Kinda hard to keep track anymore.
We threw several back that were between 18 and 19 inches and kept 5.

Nice Day on the Petaluma River. Was a bit foggy early but lots of bait in the water. Lots of Pelicans too. A really beautiful morning for fishing.

We met up a bit before 7 AM and were on the water around 7:30 AM. We had first fish on in 10 minutes. We could of had our legal limit by 9 AM but we wanted to fish more.

The fishing was off and on after that but the Striped Bass caught were mostly 18 to 24 inches and we hooked 18 total today. There were only had 3 shakers (less than legal size) caught today!

We did release lots of keepers including 22 inchers so we could keep fishing. We were fortunate to end up catching some nicer fish later in the morning and getting our limits.

Funny Thing! Steve said when we were trolling back at end of day and Steve looked out and said "your going to catch a good one in this next couple of hundred feet" and that's when we hooked biggest fish of day, 24 incher 5 lbs. Nice fighting fish!!! It almost pulled rod out of my hand... Wow! That was trip!!! He pointed out the stretch of water and in a few moments... BAM!

We ended up with a 24 inchers (5 lbs), 2 x 23 inchers (4.5 lbs) and a 22 incher (4 lb). That was heavy holding up those fish...lol!

So just another blessed day of fishing and catching on the Petaluma River with Saw1!!!!!
