Do you keep a fishing journal 🤔
I keep 2, one for fresh water and one for salt. comes in handy when you are returning to a spot you haven't visited in a decade.

feel so foolish
had that happen more than once....because I wasn't ready. fishing is relaxing, but you always have to be ready or you miss that once in a lifetime shot.

Old Folks Under the Knife
I guess it depends on whether it's an abdominal or liguinal hernia. I had a linguinal (down near your junk) My doctor did the micro surgery mesh thing. hurt for two days (tolerable) . haven't had any issues since (three years ago).Might want to ask your doc which proceedure he's going to use. (micro surgery or stitches)

What's the biggest fish you've ever caught, and what was the story behind it?

not my biggest fish, but my biggest trout. (1956) 12 years old (junior mbr) anglers club, fly fishing. 5W rod, 2# tippet, #18 royal coachman. after fighting the fish for 45 minutes and being pulled into the water right up to the top of my waders, I finally netted what turned out to be a 26" rainbow. Barely fit in the net. everyone wanted me to have it mounted but I said nope and walked it around until it could swim away. no one at the club ever caught that fish again. best I've been able to since is 23" brown out of the west Branch of the Penobscot.

I'm a suffix 832 guy. all my rods both fresh and salt. 4# for trout to 20# for stripers. 30#for Billfish.
