Have you ever tried to do something, play a game, or accomplish something that always came out worse than you wanted or desired?
Well, I have and one of these poor results was how I drove a golf ball. I never seemed to be able to hit a straight drive off the T box. This was particularly irritating and even ebarrassing when I would be invited to play with some of my doctor/clients.
I don’t mean that I never hit a straight drive, it was just unpredictable. So I thought to myself. You are a reasonable intelligent person, and reasonably athletic so why can’t you figure this problem out?
So, I set about to learn how and why I was hitting slices into the woods. It took a bit of time, but I dedicated to learning what I needed to do to correct this situation. First, as an opposite to slicing, I tried to hook my drives on purpose, once I was able to do that, it was only a short time to hit straight drives.
But once I mastered this problem, I mostly declined playing golf regularly because it took a lot of time, most of the doctors liked to bet on their rounds
and I am not a gambler, so I politely bowed out.
So, the point is you can teach yourself new habits if you first examine what is wrong and then work on correcting those errors. Second, there are only so many hours in a day, so use them wisely for the more important things you want to achieve. Just Sayin…RJS
