Eastern Creek Chubsuckers also look like common carp and lack whiskers. I caught and removed nearly 500 feral goldfish from a park lake where people illegally released their pet goldfish. I reported them to the Nonindigenous Aquatic Species Program website at //nas.er.usgs.gov. Goldfish are more hardy than carp and catfish. When I put carp, catfish and goldfish in a bucket of water, the carp and catfish always die first from hypoxia. I never caught a red horse. They may not live in Central NJ.
