Is this fishing from the bank or out of a boat?
couple of weeks ago they were talking about underwater stumps.
We're still feeding the birds. Hummingbirds, orioles, turtle doves, chickadees, cardinals, finches, woodpeckers,
nut hatches, and one favorite that showed up the other day, it was a Pileated Woodpecker. Last year we had one
for about 4 days, haven't noticed this one for the last couple of days. Hope it's still around. We're located in
Northeastern Kansas.
"You Tube" have several videos on filleting carp and preparing for the plate. I grew up eating carp and never did have any complaints. A plate of fried carp fillets, with hush puppies, and cole slaw is an excellent meal.

I remember watching Virgil Ward, Harold Ensley, and the books of Jack Tobin "Fishing is Catching", Buck Perry
"Spoon plugging" all great books. Today on You Tube Richard Gene, Catfish Dave, Kayak Fishing with Dustin, Cole and Jay fishing, Catfish and Carp fishing, these are all very knowledgeable fishermen. A lot of tips for everyone.
Your wages sound a lot like mine. In the mid 50's we were paid .50 cents a hour for chopping cotton. Finally, received a raise to .60 cents a hour. Thought I was getting rich, making a penny a minute.ha
Picking cotton was $3.00 a hundred and a good picker would pick 200 lbs. a day. At the end of the season if weather had been bad and was unable to get in the fields, they would pull boles. It paid $2.00 a hundred but a person
could pull 400 lbs. a day. This was my favorite. This was in Southeast Missouri.
Richard Gene "The Fishing Machine" from Alabama. He is very good with all species, bluegill, catfish, crappie,
largemouth, and smallmouth. He's very knowledgeable on all of these, anytime of the year.
I grew up in Southeast Missouri and caught several of these grinnels. They are a hard fighting fish. The best
bait was peeled crawfish tails, or soft crawfish. They would bite like a bullhead, pull your line out and bring it
back to you. The second or third time this happens set the hook when they pull it back out. I didn't like them to eat. The meat is soft and muchy, but on the other hand there is people that loves them and would ask me to give them the ones I caught. A lot of fun to catch..........
Do you have a special technique in catching the small mouth buffalo? I fish Perry Reservoir located
in Northeast Kansas. It's loaded with smallmouth buffalo and I catch one occasionally fishing for carp, by accident.
Thanks for any info. Kscatfisherman
I think probably taking them out of the frig for 2 or 3 hours at a time, and putting them back in on the return
trip is effecting the longevity, during the hot summer months.
I've had nightcrawlers in the frig for 2 or 3 months, no problem. At the present, I have some at least two months and went fishing a week ago Tuesday and they were still going strong. Now, with all of that said the hot summer months the time in the frig is less.
Is there a website that specializes in discounted fishing equipment?
Buffalo are good to eat. They are white meat and if you're familiar with YOU TUBE you can watch how to clean and prepare the fish.
The photo fish to me looks more like a drum??????? Anyway, if that is the case they are good to eat also, just cut out the dark strip.
