well, going through my ice fishing gear, I see that I need to replace my ice auger. With Black Friday coming up, might be a good time to purchase a new one. Just wondering what people are using out there? and what they would recommend? I know that I want at least a 8 inch auger.

I find that 12" or less of ice, a hand poweed auger is OK; after that my battery powered auger is awesome. I still use my Nills auger for a hand powered one.

Here lately I feel I'm at a place in my life where errands are starting to count as going out.

Statistics show that many of us are getting tired of being part of a major historical event.

I don't always go the extra mile, but when I do, it's because I missed my exit. ( works for me )

My goal for 2023 was to lose 10 pounds. Only have 14 to go. ( Chocolate will do that you know )

Just the other night I ate salad for dinner. Mostly croutons and tomatoes. Really just one big round crouton covered with tomato sauce and cheese. FINE, it was a pizza... OK, I ate a pizza! ( Are you happy now? )

I just did a week's worth of cardio after walking into a spider web. ( That counts right? )

I don't mean to brag, but I finished my 14-day diet food supply in 3 hours and 20 minutes. ( Guess I should have read the directions )

Politically we need to support Israel as Christians we should pray for the safety of all the Christians on both sides of this conflict

I agree with praying for the Christians on both sides; at the same time I can't help but wonder why the Palestinians didn't report to Israel what Hamas was up to years ago. They didn't build all those tunnels over night and it may never have gotten to this point. Just asking.

There are not words to express the deep emotion I feel when regarding all of you who have so selflessly given of yourselves to protect and defend this country which I hold so dear! I know and have known several who have been ill treated not only by our people but by the government which you served. To say THANK YOU is not enough. I love you all. May God’s richest blessing and deepest peace fill your minds, hearts and spirits today and always. I AM GRATEFUL!!

Thank you Wulffy. I too am a vet (USAF) and every time I go to the VA I'm honored to be among the others. I did my time as directed but feel guilt for having it so easy; I was never in harms way.

Just another example of someone who was slapped on the wrong end the day they were born...lol

I actually experienced some lady who, when I was in line at the cashiers counter and buying pillow ticking for my muzzleloader, if I used it to shoot animals with. I told her sure if I had the lic. for it. I asked her if she eats meat and she said yes. She gets it from the back of the store where itis made. She had a leather belt, shoes and a purse. We drew quite a crowd with a lot of comments about her ignorance; then I left. This was 40 or so years ago and I still marvel at it.

They were a bumper crop of black walnuts this year. We picked up and took a truck load to the farmers markets yesterday to get them hulled ended up with 397 lbs of hulled black walnuts. We use them in baked goods. They are great in fudge and apple sauce cake I have a machine to crack them it works pretty good better, than a hammer and a rock.

My uncle told me that they would jack up the rear tire of the pickup just off the cement and hull the walnuts by feeding them under the tire; it spit them out like gun shots. I never saw it done but it could work???

"Energy in the executive is a leading character in the definition of good government. It is essential to the protection of the community against foreign attacks; it is not less essential to the steady administration of the laws; to the protection of property against those irregular and high-handed combinations which sometimes interrupt the ordinary course of justice; to the security of liberty against the enterprises and assaults of ambition, of faction, and of anarchy." —Alexander Hamilton (1788)

Fellow Patriots, on this day in 1962, the first aircraft bearing the call sign "Air Force One" officially came into service. Two Boeing 747-200B jets now most regularly carry the president and thus the moniker "Air Force One." That also happens to be the title of a classic Harrison Ford movie. —Mark Alexander

I really don’t see how his explanation makes any sense.🤔

ONE FOR HISTORY BUFFS THAT I BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW.

In 1975, President Ford was left to manage the difficult ending of the Vietnam War. President Ford went to Congress for a relief package to allow American personnel and our allies to evacuate. However, there was ONE US SENATOR who opposed any such support. The result was the embarrassing and hurried evacuation from the roof of the American embassy in Saigon.

This senator reveled in the embarrassment and did everything he could to leverage it politically against Ford. Despite the efforts of this U.S. Senator--President Ford managed to rescue 1,500 South Vietnamese allies prior to the country's fall. Had President Ford not acted quickly, these people would have been targeted and slaughtered for their support of America. When they arrived in America, President Ford asked Congress for a package to assist these refugees in integrating into American society.

That SAME troublesome SENATOR TORPEDOED ANY SUPPORT for these shell-shocked, anti-c*******t, Americans and our helpers, the refugees.

Instead, President Ford had to recruit Christian organizations to offer assistance on a voluntary basis. As he did so, the Senator belittled those efforts. What kind of person would oppose President Ford's tireless work to do the right and humanitarian thing? Who would want to play politics with the well-being of innocent people who stood by America in the tragic Vietnam War?

THAT SENATOR WAS JOE BIDEN
From the book - "When the Center Held." by Donald Rumsfeld in 2018. (Biography)

I didn't know about this but it doesn't surprise me.
He's such an honorable POS

22 years ago today terrorists tried to destroy America by flying planes into the trade towers, the Pentagon and attending the Nations Capitol Building.
Nearly 3000 precious lives were lost that day.
I remember that time vividly as if it were occuring right now.
I was at Purdue University preparing the Italian meal section of the Union Building, a popular place to eat.
Roger May came in and said the Trade Tower in New York had just been hit by a plane and it was on the Jumbo Tron TV in the lobby.
I remember thinking this was just a movie until others said it was on other news channels as well. I saw the second plane hit and the towers fall.
Every food station was shut down and no food was served that day.
Oddly enough the terrorist who flew the plane into the first building was trained at Purdue University Flight School. His instructor later said he was intent on learning how to make a sharp banking tune.
Apparently they had been planning this for years.
I'll share more later on my cousin who was in the Pentagon building when it was hit.
But first dear friends I want to know what you were doing on September 11th 2001 at 8:45 am.

I was working the afternoon shift and that morning I was having coffee when my wife who was getting ready for work heard it on the radio; she told me what was happening so I turned on the tv and watched it happen to the 2nd tower in shock and total disbelief. In my micd, I still see it.......never forget!!!!!!!!!
