There are not words to express the deep emotion I feel when regarding all of you who have so selflessly given of yourselves to protect and defend this country which I hold so dear! I know and have known several who have been ill treated not only by our people but by the government which you served. To say THANK YOU is not enough. I love you all. May God’s richest blessing and deepest peace fill your minds, hearts and spirits today and always. I AM GRATEFUL!!

GW what hurts me most is the total disrespect so many exhibit now.
No clue of the price n sacrifice paid for their freedom.
I saw the protest n the rhetoric in the 60'sn 70's.
Didn't belive in war n killing.
Peace n love my butt.
Too gutless to defend freedom.
Where was the luv when our men n women that stood up with honor came home.
Treated like trash by the cowards.
Cussed called terrible names for doing what was asked of them 🤔

So true. Yet today it’s the same. We can’t get good pay because our people who never served makes the rules and decisions but have no idea what we go through. We put them in office and we can take them out of office.

I don't want to put us in the attic.
I strongly believe the biggest requirement for president should be 4 years of active duty.
A Commander in chief should understand the working of the military.

That’s exactly how it started I think.

About the only requirement is age.
Most important job in the USA.
Qualifications required almost none.
Manual labor jobs require a certain amount of experience n knowledge.
Teaching requirement college n constant up grades.
Along with Dr's nurses veterinarians yrs of schooling n constant upgrades.
Go figure 🤔

And to know there are even “conscientious objectors” and at least one who tells veterans, “sorry for your service”, right here on FS, is sickening and pathetic to me…
He knows who he is! Shame on him!

In my opinion our sorrow should be that their service is necessary. Double shame on him. I object to violence and war but when it is forced upon any segment of society gratitude and support for our defenders IS A NO BRAINER!!

Indeed we can not show enough gratitude nor give enough thanks to all who have served. My life path did not lead me to military service to our country but it has lead me to many who did serve. Yesterday, Friday, at the assisted living home my mother-in-law resides my wife, a friend and I volunteered a special gathering to honor the veterans who live there. It was very moving to see the pride in the eyes of those veterans, many from the Vietnam war time. We only wish there was more a person could do, but they left that gathering knowing their life counted for something very important, our freedom.

Most veterans don't like the killing either but we are willing to do whatever it takes to defend our great Nation. I thank you for your support Wulffy.

GW,
Please accept my heart felt gratitude for your support and for the obvious heart felt sentiment. With that being said, I often wonder how many Vets feel as I do that I should be thankful to our great country for the opportunity to serve... Paris Island made a man of me and cemented the values my father instilled in me, the least of which being Honor and responsibility for my actions.... The skills I learned in the Corps have allowed me to provide a decent living for myself and more importantly my family... So please accept my humble Thanks to all who support our Veterans and a heart felt thanks to our great country....
Just an old Jarhead...
Doc

I am humbled whenever I go to the VA hospital and see the broken and infirmed soldiers struggling with their issues but still brave and proud of what they sacrificed for our country. Broken in body but not in spirit. The few, the proud, the brave—that gave.
