Hi fish- 66. What do you need to know exactly? I haven't mullet fished in a few years but used to fish for them all the time. So I haven't completely forgotten everything. We fished Blackwater and Yellow River back then. I got into bass fishing all the time now but I still miss snaching a big old mean mullet at times. Let me know what you need to know and I'll try to help. I just live over here close to Crestview. So if nothing else I might could show you what you need to know.

Buddy first thing I would do is get a fly rod. You can roll cast a long leader with a cork for bottom fishing or slash fishing. And if the fish are hitting on top change to a fly or popping bug. You can catch most any fish with a fly rod. I've used one for bream fishing. cat fishing and bass fishing. We don't have trout here in north Florida but I've used it up north and caught trout on night crawlers. Hang in there you'll figure it out sooner or later.

My buddy and I mostly use Zoom trick worms. He refuses to use anything but a full worm. Where as i pinch the head off when it tears up and keep on fishing. Nine times out of ten I catch more and bigger fish. So does this tell you something. If it works, use it. Plus it saves money. Also I use his discarded worms, another save. Call me cheap but if it works so what.

Jim go on youtube and look at the Red Phillips knot. Easy, quick and if tied right strong. also the smallest knot I know to join braid to fluoro.

Fredfish has got it right it doesn't matter what color you use as long as it's June bug. I'm in northwest Florida and that's my #1 go to worm.

Phil just want to say, I think you have your family mixed up with mine. Everything you had and did sounds just like my life except I live in north west Fla. and I'm 72 yrs. old. I also got so good at cleaning my 202 I'm sure I could have done it in the dark. Wonderful days and memories.

Another problem I've had a few times is if you get a bad kink in the fluro. When you go to make a long cast it breaks on you. Haven't had it to happen often but you would hate to lose a good fish because of it. So if you get an over run be careful of kinks. As for the coils three things will help. One stretch the line before you go fishing. Two let the line out behind the boat while you're moving will get most of the coils out. Also the line conditioner does help a little.

My friends and I have had really good luck with Berkley Vanish. I've tried several of the other brands but keep coming back to Vanish. Plus it's one of the better priced FC's. But everyone will always have one that they like better than the others, so keep trying them till you find your favorite.

For five years I hunted bream beds at night. Normally at night you have no wind, so when you smelled the fish you were real close to them. I'd then take my spot light and look until I found them. Then I'd mark them with a lead on a piece of line with a cork. The next morning I would go back to them and I could stay off of the beds and fish to them with my fly rod and a cricket. The farther away from the beds the better.

If you're going to run a SS prop be sure to have insurance on your motor. I made a turn around in the river a couple of months ago and hit a sand bottom, didn't think nothing about it, until I tried to crank my motor. No harder than I hit it, I bent the piston rod and several other things. Barely ding my prop but it didn't slip. Thank God for ins. My little 40 horse got a complete over haul. About $3400 because of a SS prop. But I'm still running it because it works so well. I only pay $100 a year for ins. and it sure saved my butt. The biggest problem with using them on a small motor is that they are so heavy that when you put them in gear they really work on your lower unit.

Should have known better. Nobody fishes this area except Lake Seminole. Which suits me fine. More fish for us.
