A funny...we had stopped at Cabelas on I-35 in Owotona MN and I purchased a Cabelas 6’6” Fish Eagle rod added a Shimo double paddle reel and off to fish camp in Northern Ontario...3 years later I broke the rod sooo on the way home stopped at the same Cabelas and asked about warranty and was told NO? Since I count fish, no I don’t know why, I said if I can provide proof this rod has caught a 1000 fish will you replace it and they said “let me get the manager?” Sooo, I showed him my list and it added up to 976 fish and he laughed and said that is really good except this model rod is discontinued, but we will go half off on a new rod? They had a barrel full of Fish Eagle discontinued rods found 3 of the exact model at a huge discount and he added another 50% off on all 3 rods!!! YUP, I’m a Cabelas fan...DrChip

Absolutely!! How much are out of state licenses as I could always make the trip if all your other friends are too busy to “go fishing?” I’ll look for a pic of the Causeway I referred too.

OJdidit...Absolutely not doubting where you said these Walleye were caught but the “bridge” in the first picture looks remarkably like the Causeway to the island of the 1st Nation (Ojibway) on Lac Seul next to the area called Archie’s Landing...that is where we jump off to go to fish camp on the North shore?

BF...about 2 weeks ago after sharing some of the wisdom freely given out on our FS, I tried to relate this very story to my wife (the Chief of Police) who needs a boost now and then. In the end I cried at the completeness of LOVE one person had for another...I cried again today after reading her your story???
Thanks, Dr Chip

What a nice gentlemanly reply from a Gentleman that may become my good friend and with all you boys egging him on, he & I, may gang up together against you all...
WOW certainly a topic of conversation for the M & G?
And, NO Randy, the Chief has not given me a definitive answer on me or both of us attending tho she did say “She’ll think about it?” Hopefully by 1st. Of the week I’ll have an answer...

This is Dr. Chip and I don’t know Bad Bobby but I’m sure I’d like him and since he is used in many many topics I thought I’d add to the flay?? Hopefully, when we gather at the Meet & Greet May 2021 I can shake his hand and “apologize” if necessary, sooo here goes:

We all know that Game Wardens from Texas have all the powers of State Police from watching Lone Star Law.

One morning recently Bad Bobby was turkey hunting and being the expert he is had called a large group of Jakes within about 10 feet of where he was standing. There were no legal Tom’s and he was frustrated so just as he opened his mouth to shush the birds away a coyote rushed out of the brush on the opposite side scaring the Jakes into flight and amazingly the largest Jake flew right into Bad Bobby’s arms. Being quick as the weasel he is he caught the bird and immediately stuffed him into the gunny sack he always carries to tote His prey out of the woods. He couldn’t wait driving to the parking lot of the coffee shop where we all gather to exchange important information. He got out of his truck, grabbed the bird and said “Boys look what I caught while turkey hunting this morning.” Someone asked “whats ya gonna do with him Bobby?” Bad Bobby said “I’m going to break his wings, break his legs, and wring his neck then take him home to Ms. Bad Bobby and have her clean him and we’ll roast him for Thanksgiving?” Just then a pick up drove up and someone said “OH the Game Warden.” He marched up to Bobby and said “ Bobby what are you going to do with that young Jake and before you answer I’m going to do to you exactly what you do to that bird.” With a sly smile on his face Bobby started to say and the Game Warden said “be careful because I’m going to do to you just EXACTLY what you do to that Jake.” Bad Bobby said “ I was just telling all these boys and they are all my witnesses that just before I set him loose that I was going to pat his head, rub his belly, and KISS his ass?”
The silence was deafening as he loaded into his truck and drove off!!!!!

One More: And RJS, you might not be quite old enough but What was Smear 62 used for specifically and why were they able to discontinue using it? It was labeled “For use in Texas Only!”

Actually a Holihand loop is used when roping horses out of the remuda for a day mount...reason is they don’t have to be worled overhead frightening the horse. On a right hand roper the loop is built and held to the left side and then in a swift motion swung to the right rolling your hsnd and releasing with your hand in an uncomfortable upside down position? A lot of old timers are very accurate and don’t scare the other horses in the bunch??
DrChip
Old veterinarians also do it to dhow off??
