Worry is a waste of energy…..Just sayin’

If I had a dollar for every time I worried about having enough money, I'd be financially set for the few years I have left. My energy level is declining so putting worry behind me is probably a good idea.

[quote=saw1]Hey guys. My Mom isn't doin that well at all. So I'm headed back to Texas Tuesday till the end of the month to visit her. If she makes it she turns 96 on May 20th.
Not sure how much I'll be on the stage the next 2 weeks but I'll try to check in now and again on everyone and see how y'all are doin.
I want Y'all to behave yourselves while I'm gone. None of that back bitin and bickerin either. Bless your heart, Y'all be nice. [/quote

Nothing but positive thoughts for your mom. No back bitin or bickering plus I have to be nice too. That's a lot to ask from this crabby old fart.

Unfortunately not.
I even volunteer for the abuse during summer LL tournaments, I know that I signed up for the risk of a physical injury but all of the verbal abuse makes me wonder what’s wrong with some of the spectators…

I did some umpiring for LL and Babe Ruth Leagues. 99% of the problems came from parents, not players. People who thought they knew the game and the rules.

Those foul balls always seem to find the umpire too. We wear all kinds of protective gear and every so often during my 100 game season (spring through fall) I get hit directly where the gear ain’t.

This particular photo is my upper arm hit twice during a softball 🥎 tournament weekend. Nothing soft about a 🥎.

Ouch. Combat pay written in your deal?

Nothing like a foul ball off your hand in 30 degree weather as a catcher. Don't ask about the other place the ball seems to find.

Sometimes we have to look real hard but it’s always there….

I my case, the light you see shining through is easily seen because there's no brain to obscure it. When they gave brains out, I think I was out fishing or something.

Since you opened it, I'm guessing you can't take the can back and get a steak instead.

Good reminders. Some may actually work.
Expect little from people. You're seldom disappointed.

That the time I spent learning to fish with my grandfather and father was time I would never get back. The value of that time can't be duplicated.

Took my buddy fishing last week at Bartlett but we just had two dinks. Got him back on Saguaro today to see if we could do any better. He out fished me. Check this one out. Catch of a lifetime! 10.4 lbs.

It’s also allergy season. I use Flonase spray and mucinex. It’s getting better. I can go most of the day without a cough and every once in a while I have a coughing jag that sometimes makes me light headed.

My wife and I have seasonal allergies living in the worst area in the country for allergies. This is definitely much more than an allergy.

That's why I made the original post. This cough, sometimes a low grade temp, trouble breathing, etc, is nothing to be ignored. I will be calling my doc soon if this continues. The wife went last week and has a follow up April 8.
