I have fished the river for stripers and had good luck. Find a good looking spot and chum and they will come.
I used to go to Oceanside to the harbor and get a scoop of anchovies and freeze them and bring them out
for bait and chum.

It looks like that thing just boogies right along. How does it handle turning?

some of these new augers almost pull themselves through the ice. They really dig. I always liked using
minnows for crappie and put down a tip up with a sucker minnow on it for pike and larger fish. That way you
have some action all the time.

Hey Stage!
Heading to Pismo Beach early next week to camp at Oceano Campgrounds.
Looking to fish the lagoon there and do some surf fishing.

Any tips would be appreciated. I've done some research online and have a Carolina rig ready for some surf perch. Probably use Berkley's 2" Sand Worms and Power Grubs for bait on a 6' mono leader. I'll also try some jerkbaits too. As far as the lagoon, I do not know what is in there. Hopefully some LMBs!

Anyways... Tight Lines and Stay Safe for those heading out on the water for the Thanksgiving Holiday!!!

I would stay with a one foot to two foot leader, and market shrimp chunks, just enough to cover the
curve of the hook, using the Carolina rig. Also the lucky craft lures work well.

I know the walleye because I USED to be from MN. I don't know the man-o-war however.
So, Larry M what part of north county are you from?
