Very interesting. I'm intrigued by this. Always wanted to build a boat. Always wanted to do a cedar strip canoe also. Its really cool. Nice job . plz post pictures on the water

Use Spanish cedar if that's what you want to do. It's a good hearty wood. It's resistant to rot.

No kit. My own plans. 22 1/2 degrees of deadrise on the gunnels. 12 degrees of transom deadrise. I can run in 4 inches of water with no problem. Takes about 8 to get on step.

The spots you saw are really not all that great. There's wayyyyy too much traffic on that particular canal. I'll take more videos at a later date of some "honey holes" I go to. Then you'll see some really good bass holes.
