Bucky Buckner, The Filets were from the large Butt. I gave the other to my younger bro. Probably Pink from one side and white from the bottom. since it was my first time catching these good fighters I didn't even know about bleeding until I got home and watched youtube videos on how to filet when I also came upon a video about bleeding... Now I do and the next time I will have to do that.. .Does it make a difference in taste?
Papa D, Hey Thanks. I've been following you too on this board. We definitely need to hook up sometime on our Yaks. Can't wait for the Halibut bites to get hot up in Tomales
Thanks Saw1. Launch out of Oyster Point. I live in Santa Rosa and hit the road around 5. Got on the water about 7:30. I've been following you since I moved up to your neck of the woods. One day you're going to have to show me how to fish for bass
First time ever going for Halibut ever. My kayak has opened so many new fishing opportunities. You just gotta be very careful, have every safety equipment and make sure you check tides, wind and current.
Awesome pictures! Sounds like a great fishing day. May I ask what does R.F.P. stand for?
Great day indeed. Did you crab outside or inside of jetty?
I was using kayak but just far enough beyond casting distance from the shore snare crabbers. While waiting for the hoops to soak I anchor and also cast a snare. I actually caught 6.5" on a snare while waiting
Still producing even with the storms. Last Sunday pics
Great list Papa D... Anyone have any spots up in the SF North Bay, Petaluma River or Napa River?
What baits do you use for surf perch?
Great pics guys. I'm from Santa Rosa also but not really familiar with the fishing spots up here. Move here a year ago from the bay area. I'll definitely be watching your posts to come. Thanks
Any update on striper fishing in the north bay? Napa river? Petaluma River? Thanks in advance
Has anyone been to Bodega Bay Jetty lately for crabbing. I would like to go but wanted to see if anyone has been there since the storms
