I caught my first shark last night! It was awesome 😎. Then I caught 2 stripers as well. Both stripers were 16 in and 17 in. There were many very large fish breaking water right in front of me. I was fishing off the pier at Black point in Novato. The tide was out going. I was using squid. That was an awesome fishing adventure for me because I caught my first shark. Love the fight.

Fun times! Thx for sharing Butch

Saturday I was supposed to be replacing our famous 6 mil roofing for the wet season on The Ol'Cabin for yet again another year. But, good friends, family, fishing, and great weather sounded like a lot more fun, and as the hours ticked away I thought "Well, its not supposed to be more than a light intermittent rain and drizzle mid day Sunday, I'll be fine...Right?" Ha ha... well we did get a few fish. LOL (full story at: https://bigslootadventures.com/clearlake-fishing-and-october-rains/ ) if anyone is interested. The square bill got it done for me this weekend, as I spent a little bit of time casting a few piers along our stretch of Silverado Beach Saturday morning. Later we sat on the pier and soaked some NightCrawlers and my Bro Mike picked up a nice lil Catfish. Good times. I paid for it on Sunday, getting drown in the downpour tarping off the roof, but hey, I'd make that trade again any day. Good Times. Cabin Life

Sadly we have lost Jimmy Buffet. My personal favorite of all time being a proud Parrot Head! If you never made it to one of his concerts, you missed something in life IMO. Met him a few times, shared a beer with him and maybe a shot of Cuervo, hard to remember those days. Rest in peace my friend!

Wow just seeing this, very sad to hear….second only (perhaps) to the Grateful Dead, as far as fan loyalty. The guy was a genius in creating music that was so relatable. He also took what was a pretty modest catalog of known music and turned it into a very lucrative business with his marketing skill. No more wasting away, but he is really in margaritaville now! RIP Mr. Buffett

Stopped by Trout Run on my way home tonight just to look at some steelhead and see the crazy fishermen/ women shoulder to shoulder. In the picture you can see the catch basin Fish &Boat uses to collect eggs and milk males to raise new fish they have it blocked off right now but the fish are anxious to go upstream. Trout Run is purely propagation stream with no fishing at all. To the locals this is a normal sight but I thought some of you guys might enjoy these pics. As you can see you can almost stand by the waters edge and pet them !! A couple young boys were trying to do just that . What a temptation! πŸ‘ΌπŸ˜‡. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
