Welcome Wayne, you'll find lots of great folks and fishermen here. I know what you mean about the wife and your computer. Mine says if I spend any more time on it I'll have to sleep with it. But I se her point, I do spend a lot of time researching fishing locations and techniques. Where are you located in Texas? A lot of folks here are on the coast or like to fish either surf, wade, or kayak. Good fishing.

Really love fresh oysters, enjoy some for me. I looked at a Tamarack Pro 103, but just wanted some more room. I was also looking for a pedal drive. I don't think my back would allow me to paddle all day. We'll find out soon, I hope. Living so far from the coast, it hardly gives me time to scout an area. I have to get there and start fishing, discover places as I go.

Thanks Dirt57, I really appreciate the info. Would still like to meet up and do some fishing, especially not that I have a kayak ordered. Just hard to be patient for to get it here and get all set up. Just completed a box made from milk crates for the back. Came out better than I thought.
Gos bless, keep your hook wet and your line tight.

Well after lots of internet searches and research (and pricing), I finally decided on my choice for a kayak and purchased one. It is a Seastream Angler 120 PD. I think for all the accessories you get, it is the best price for my money.
What I'm interested in now is finding a fish finder with GPS, at a price that won't break my bank account. From all the info I can get together it seems like you have to buy (1) the fish finder, (2) mounting bracket, (3) bracket to hang it over the side, (4) battery with charger, and did I forget anything else? Do most of these items come in a package deal or do you have to buy separately? How can you be assured that what you buy will be compatible and fit together?
Need all the help I can get and I'm depending on you seasoned kayakers to get this newbie on the right path. Plan to do a lot of coastal fishing and some fresh water. I prefer the salt water above anything else.
Please respond if you have any helpful thoughts.
God bless, and keep you line tight.

Great day out, and you did catch some fish. Better than getting skunked. You have a lovely granddaughter, I know you are proud. Keep fishing and God bless.
At least I know what you look like now.

Thanks Hacksaw for your report and sorry to hear you got "skunked". I guess 5that's why they call it fishing instead of catching. Better luck next time.
And, THANK YOU for your service to our country.
Keep fishing, God bless you. Keep your hook wet and your line tight.

Thanks or the info. I know what you mean about having to make changes when you get older. I'm a "young 77" and just getting back into kayaks. Congratulations on your finding such a good deal. God bless you and your wife. Be safe, keep your hook wet and your line tight.

I would think that if it had a motor you would have to regester it like any other watercraft. I too am looking at the pedal kayaks, but alos don't know if I want to spend that much just to get started again. If I find a good deal, I'll go pedal just because of my age. You know stronger in the legs that back and arms. Just read another person's post talking about a bed extender. Never thought about that, but really am now.
