Good afternoon y’all, Cody Blackburn here. My fiancé and I recently moved to Rockport, Tx from Tomball. I’ve fished most of my life in Matagorda and prefer to fish with artificials and wade. We know next to nothing about Rockport other than 4 days with guides and would like some friendly advice and a point in the right direction. We are headed out this afternoon for the minor 3 fish period between 4:00-6:00. I run a 24’ Shoalwater and can pretty much run anywhere but would prefer the “easy routes” as Im just learning Rockport. Many thanks and look forward to seeing y’all on the water!
I havent fished there for more than 30 years. What I suggest is you Google or Bing the Texas Game and Fish Commission. They post a monthly report on all the freshwater lakes and salt water fishing spots.
They are quite detailed in their reports so I don't think the information would steer you wrong. Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome to the Forum, Cody. Check out Port Aransas too, they have a lot of fish down there too. I think it's better than Rockport. Good luck.
Welcome to the forum, Cody. Hope you catch lot's of fish where ever you fish, Just enjoy.
Since you can go anywhere, try Cedar Bayou near the second set of islands. Also try Bray Cove off of Mesquite Bay.
Rockport is great! You can wade fish for sure. I usually launch at the crab man launch so most of my experience is around the Lighthouse area. I know last month they were catching reds in shallow water. Get a map and start exploring. Estes flats is good. Some big holes in the area that hold fish. California hole etc
