I’ve been guided for salmon in tillimook bay. Garribaldi is close to the mouth of the bay.
Many fish close to the mouth.
Outside the mouth you deal w ocean conditions and equip needs to be running top notch for saftey reasons.
Guides recommend private boaters try to be there to learn channels during a minus tide event.
Many shallow sand bars to spend the day on till next high tide.
Side advantage is if stuck, step out and you may be able to harvest some clams.
Due to oyster farming and it’s harvest there is much seaweed that messes w you.
Our 6 man group one year found the nets out of the water and the fish found us w 130 lbs of fillets to split up.
Flashers and spinners were the order of the day. Rip lip and hang on!

Yes the white salmon are real-
I caught a large one in a tributary of the Columbia River.
I was to young to realize it’s existence and thought it was somehow bad and buried a 30 lb fish.
Still hate youth for the ignorance we endured-

Sockeye run is on the Columbia now w 6 fish limit just imposed.
Look up bank fishing Columbia River you tube for info

Walleye are all thru the columbia River.
Fish are being caught below McNair dam and John day dam.
Below j.day shad are running.
Bottom walkers and spinners.

No live bait other than worms in Wa.
I’ve not fished the lake but there is a sporting good store there to start.
The store at MarDon ( Potholes res.)
Could prob help as well as you tube videos. Google depth charts for Moses L. As well.

A old boy I knew here in Washington used to Demud them in a galv tub w fresh water for a couple of days then cut the tail off to bleed out and smoke ‘em.
Did not taste bad at all as I remember
