Hard to believe I’ve lived here in western Washington State for over fifty years and never went razor clam digging. Finally went last week with my fishing buddies and they showed me the tricks. Got our limits of 20 clams in less than an hour. It was an early tide/dig so we had the rest of the day to stop and fish on the way home. Only caught one trout but it was more than enough to make a couple dinners with the clams. Now how to figure out how to post a picture. Hang in here I’m trying.

Trout are in the river also we will see

Hi Ed. I’d take the trail down river at the end of the parking lot and fish below where Blue Creek dumps in. About a 15 minute hike. Then poke around and explore spots back to the truck. River should be in prime shape with the weather we have had for the last week.

Hi Ed. I’m not familiar with any of the Riverside crew but I’m sure you will have a great trip. Good rain gear and pay attention to the guide. Ask questions and learn. Good chance for fish in February. I’ve done multiple trips there in February, usually come home with fish. Have fun and learn.

My name is Bob from Tumwater, WA. Lifelong fisherman. Dad was a fishing addict and I got to tag along all the time. Went to work for Herters (old timers will remember Herters) here in Washington right after College. Worked my way up to fishing, boating, and archery department manager. Was fortunate to grow up on a Bass lake in the middle of Trout, Steelhead, and Samon paradise. So I learned to fish multiple species. I built my first rod in junior high, Dad was a master rod builder during the Dale Clemons era so I was able to grow my building skills from him also. Have been tying flies since my Herters days and enjoy the fly fishing opportunities of the area around home and a few trips to Yellowstone and other blue ribbon destinations. Always learning something new from your site and appreciate all the topics and input from your membership.
