Went to visit my in-laws; got Pops to take me fishing. I didn’t catch anything and he only caught one catfish but it was a good day. I know Pops was tired of fishing after about an hour but he knew I was having fun and stayed out fishing most of the day. Im lucky to have him for a father in law!

Congratulations Mary! Sounds like a great start to the fishing season. Going fishing tomorrow with my father in-law. I was hoping for crappie but he says it’s too cold. Guess we’ll see!

My husband almost always uses a rooster tail. I tend to take a more “let’s try everything in the tackle box” approach, lol! He typically out fishes me but more likely because he has more experience and patience. I don’t let it spoil my fun though :)

I’ve always wanted to fish Elephant Butte Lake. I took my son a couple of summers back. We got there on a Sunday night and set up camp, Monday morning they closed everything down because of COVID. Will have to get back there one of these days! I hope you and your grandson have a great time and that you’ll post pics here of your trip.
