I find it ironic that for decades, the 2-D sonars found there way onto boats, with little argument that it wasn’t fair… that all those arch’s across the screen depicting fish below wasn’t really fishing. Then along comes some technical advances that display a similar mark on the screen, just out in front of the screen in real time is somehow cheating nature. Dont like it… fine… not for everyone… dont use it. But for all those that seem to have a negative opinion about its usage, I challenge them to hop on a boat and use it. It’s not easy and the learning curve takes time on the water. Again, only a tool. Kinda like that shiny little cell phone that everyone now carries in their pocket. Just a tool.

Ouch, tough room. It’s just a tool, nothing else. But appears to be the red line in the sand in this room. Tight lines

Well, guess you got me by 10 years… hahaha. And for the record I said into 3 rd season using FFS (hasn’t been around that long). Tight lines

Certainly don’t mean to offend, but you obviously have NEVER used FFS. There’s absolutely nothing easy about it, one needs to use all the bass fishing skills from experience just to be around fish. Then it’s all about attempting to select the right lure… with the right presentation, while positioning the boat at the right angle. Everything one knows from the past how to catch a bass needs to be applied. Time on the water using FFS will educate the user to even identify certain species… and learn a lot about their behavior. It may look boring and/or easy, but it’s anything but easy. 3 rd season using my FFS and literally, every day is a new training day in the classroom for me… and I’ve been targeting bass now for 55 years.

My gosh. Get off the keyboard in hopes of generating some negative responses from your post. We get it. Everyone else at fault and targeting you. Buy your licenses or not. Support your child or not. This is a fishing site, not a poor abbey therapy clinic. You had your fun. Not leave us to more important topics than your troubled past… like fishing 😁

So let me get this straight. You’re on here bragging about intentionally not buying a license for decades. Then you reveal that you willingly didn’t pay court order child support ??? You’re either a keyboard clown trying to see this post blow up, or just a freaking i***t. I don’t know you sir, but belong in jail

I know every inch of that little harbor, having lived right above the harbor for 35 years before moving to Montana. As harbors go, it’s probably the slowest in terms of fish. It just doesn’t have much in terms of natural bait. Harbors like L.A, Long Beach, Mission Bay and San Diego have a much heavier supply of baits and tidal flows and fish to catch. Yes, Dana is pretty, but just not a strong fishery.

Been unseasonably warm for up here, n/w Montana. Finally got a few inches of snow last night. Beautiful. Next week we will get out first artic blow (get 2-3 every winter). Low temp’s will be minus 20. We like it, as it’s kinda our unofficial population control 😉

Thanks, my buddies and fished there a back in September and it was all we could do to get back in. But the KoKanee were quit small, I did catch a nice Kamloop rainbow, maybe 10/12lbs

Nice. First person I’ve seen that actually caught one. Saw 2 last year. Easily well over 20 lbs each. Beautiful coloring and HUGE !

Not sure of the name of launch area, as I only know of 2. It’s the one located on the north side. It’s not much. They pulled the only nearby dock… cement ramp to water edge is good. After that, it’s really bad. About 3 cement slabs spaced about 18 inches apart. Wheels almost fall in between. Horrible design. Just barely enough water at end to float off. But, it’s all you got to work with. Fortunately my bass boat floats off in very shallow water
