Once I heard of it, I suspected it was going to be a problem. I am watching an Elite Series tournament on Lake Fork and the guys are catching many 8#+ LM bass as they are getting ready to spawn. They use their Forward Facing Sonar and cast only to the big fish they see on the screen, watch their lure, entice a bite and reel them in. It is not interesting to watch a guy watching a monitor to find fish! Last week the winner on Toledo Bend caught over 100#, today the leader is at 82# and his day just started. Best in the world? I am thinking just best with technology. There is a slot limit of 16-24” fish they can’t keep this week, but I feel that is not enough. This technology cannot be good for our fisheries, nor can promoting it be good for those who are not in position to spend the $20K plus price tag to rig themselves up with the equipment. Just my opinion, of course!

I agree John. It takes 90% of the skill, out of the contest. Just my humble opinion.

Up to 50k on some boats.
One young guy admitted its the only way he knows to fish
I don't watch it anymore.
Boring as crap.
No you can't make them bite but when you find a school n you spot lock.
You know darn well you'll get some.
Money is killing every sport out there.
No integrity involved.
They can have it👎👎
Personally I am not into the Tech equipment, don't get me wrong it would be nice. However, there is more to fishing than almost knowing every time there will be a hit or a catch.
I look for the signs, hope for a hit and sometimes reel in a keeper or a catch to be released.
Then sometimes nothing. That is why they call it fishing not catching.

Exactly, I love the mystery of it as I try to outwit something with the size of a pea! 😂

" mystery "
Good way to put it OJ. Might be after a bass, but that big Cat can get the adrenalin flowing just as much.

I know most of y'all will agree that going fishing is to get away from the TV and hustle of things and relax 🎣 I love to catch fish but just being out in God's creation and listening to nature is what's the best part, 🙏🎣🎣

Not much sport or skill in it. It should be considered cheating.

The people in those tournaments are supposed to be pros. I think if they really are pros, they should only have a depth finder,if even that, and no fish finders whatsoever.
If you would like to see a funny movie that addresses this issue, watch Bait Shop. It stars Bill Engvall so you know it's gonna be funny also.

They'll never know the spiritual connection Bob.
The day I make catching the most important thing kick me outta the boat.

👍👍👍👍Chuckay.
To me if you can't spend a day alone with nature I don't want to be you.
I can spend dark to dark out there.
No catch no kill n still have a great day.
Total mental reset for me 👍☺️

I agree with no electronic equipment...like the old days when people had to figure out how to find food.

Go all the way, cane poles and dugout canoes.
Certainly don’t mean to offend, but you obviously have NEVER used FFS. There’s absolutely nothing easy about it, one needs to use all the bass fishing skills from experience just to be around fish. Then it’s all about attempting to select the right lure… with the right presentation, while positioning the boat at the right angle. Everything one knows from the past how to catch a bass needs to be applied. Time on the water using FFS will educate the user to even identify certain species… and learn a lot about their behavior. It may look boring and/or easy, but it’s anything but easy. 3 rd season using my FFS and literally, every day is a new training day in the classroom for me… and I’ve been targeting bass now for 55 years.
