I have a brand new package of a "flying lure" kit at home that we never tried out. Still in the drawer lol.

Nice looking jigs sir! I haven't tied up any flies in a few years since I've stopped steelheading. Thanks for the inspiration to tie up some crappie jigs. I might have to tie some up for my tacklebox and see what happens.

We tried 14' 18' in different areas of the bay. Tried 1.2-1.8 but couldn't find the right speed. Most fish were on the bottom.

Water temp was 37. Ended up being a nice tour of the inner bay for us. Stuck with trolling bandits at varying speeds in 4 different areas. we were seeing fish but nothing biting. Heard a few guys got 1 at the ramp so we weren't the only ones. Here's a couple other pics I took.

I haven't seen any reports for the river but it's been hit or miss out of Sterling State Park. Some days 14' and others 25'.

Thanks for all the great ideas. It's appreciated. Usually I run close to being out (trolling with crawlers) but thought I'd try to keep the leftovers going this year with the anticipation of fishing more often. (hopefully)

I'd like to try to keep leftover bait this summer and was curious how folks store worms when they're done at the end of the day. I'm looking at the magic bedding/food system and was curious if anyone else used it or what is best way to keep them for next time. probably mostly leaf/red worms or crawlers I'd be keeping. thanks in advance..

Congrats, great eating. I dip mine in egg and then Panko. I use lemon pepper and fry them in small bite size pieces ( 1" x 1"). Don't forget the cheeks, they are delicious and easy to harvest.

Talking cheeks,,,, I watched some guys cut up a halibut and the first thing he did was cut the cheeks out. they were huge!
