Caught a few of these yellow fin Croaker this morning. These gents were walking by and wanted the fish. So on the stick he went. HA.

We fish for Corbina and Halibut from the surf here in So Cal. Bat rays and shark. Surf perch are pleantiful too.

Perfect 73 degree weather here at the beach. Fishing slow here. 1 croaker 1 Corbina 1 halibut. Needed a surf perch for the cycle. Better days to come. New Okuma rod and Shimano Vanford 3000 reel going into play this week. Should be different than old school Mitchell 300s I have used for years. Don’t think fish will know the difference though.

Things have slowed down here in So Cal. Skunked yesterday 2 croaker today from surf. Barred surf perch better gear here soon or it will be boring. Time to go to LC and fish halibut and rays

Found an Okuma 8-6 medium at Dicks this morning. Going to pair it with the new Shimano Vanford 3000 when it arrives.

Just bought the new Shimano Vanford 3000 reel to pair with my no longer produced Cousins 9 foot rod. Should be good for everything I want in the surf.

Just returned a new baitcaster-PITA reel and bought the new Shimano Vanford 3000. Can’t wait for it to get here. Surf fish 95 % of the time and baitcaster sent me home 3 times bird nest and no fish. Watched many setup videos and still think they are too much work for me to enjoy. My 2 cents worth. Guys that tournament fish with these make it look so easy !

Carolina rig with gulp sand worm. Another 12 fish today. I ray in the mix today. One of us threw a LC for awhile no results there.

another good day surf fishing Hermosa Beach. 1.5 hours 21 fish between 3 of us. 1 Corbina in the bunch. Surprise.
