Thanks, we got 12 fish between the two of us a large Pickerel and one good size Perch. The rest were small but fun.

Finally got a good day and took my neighbor fishing. We had a mixed catch of large mouth Perch and Pickerel. Here is a picture of the Large Mouth went 3.6 lbs.

No problem, I have a neighbor who saw the boat in my yard and is a freshwater guy. Good luck with your shore fishing.

When I was young we would save enough to buy one Rapala or you could get two Rebels.

You are in better shape than I am. I just got back from Porto Portugal and the hills there wore me out. Walking to the hook and then playing tennis would be too much for me.

Sounds like a nice day. The walk to the hook is good exercise too. Fluke or Strippers?

Harry, looks like you guys should be taking turns, and it seems as if you could both help each other learn new techniques, for two altogether different types of fisheries. Maybe share tackle until .........

It has been a while since I fished salt water. I was a Stripper nut for a bunch of years when my Brother-in-law owned a Parker. When I retired I bought a boat that is better suited for fresh water.

Yes, the fishing permit for a year is $30. It gives you access to the four resivoirs all off of route 23. Not a bad investment for four good places to fish without a crowd.

I fish for Largemouth and small-mouth Bass mostly. Some Pickeral and Perch. It is more relaxing fishing than salt water. The Newark Watershed is not heavily fished and it can be really good one day and quiet the next. I am in West Caldwell so we are close. You do need to get a permit for the watershed, I believe it is $15 or $20 for a year. We can meet for coffee and I could show you some pictures of the fish I have caught.

I have not put my boat in salt water. In the watershed, only electric motors are allowed. I have two 55lb electric motors one fore and one aft.

I have a 14' deep V and fish mainly in the Newark watershed reservoirs. My fishing partner has taken a job and can not fish on weekdays. I am retired and fish mainly on weekdays to avoid crowds. Looking for someone who enjoys fishing and some conversation. Let me know if you are interested. HarryS.

The Newark Watershed has a lake in New Milford. You need to get a permit to fish there but it is worth it. Should be some local ponds in your area, hopefully, you can ask the owner for permission to fish. Garden State Bow and Reel is a good bait shop in Stockholm not too far from you. They will give you great information on where and what to use in your area.
