I have a 14' deep V and fish mainly in the Newark watershed reservoirs. My fishing partner has taken a job and can not fish on weekdays. I am retired and fish mainly on weekdays to avoid crowds. Looking for someone who enjoys fishing and some conversation. Let me know if you are interested. HarryS.

Hi Harry.
I do mostly saltwater. Can your boat go into Raritan Bay? I'm going tomorrow offshore. Stripers and blues are bangin!!!

I have not put my boat in salt water. In the watershed, only electric motors are allowed. I have two 55lb electric motors one fore and one aft.

I fish for Largemouth and small-mouth Bass mostly. Some Pickeral and Perch. It is more relaxing fishing than salt water. The Newark Watershed is not heavily fished and it can be really good one day and quiet the next. I am in West Caldwell so we are close. You do need to get a permit for the watershed, I believe it is $15 or $20 for a year. We can meet for coffee and I could show you some pictures of the fish I have caught.

Yes, the fishing permit for a year is $30. It gives you access to the four resivoirs all off of route 23. Not a bad investment for four good places to fish without a crowd.

Harry, looks like you guys should be taking turns, and it seems as if you could both help each other learn new techniques, for two altogether different types of fisheries. Maybe share tackle until .........

It has been a while since I fished salt water. I was a Stripper nut for a bunch of years when my Brother-in-law owned a Parker. When I retired I bought a boat that is better suited for fresh water.

I spent all day down at Port Montmouth then out to the tip of Sandy Hook. It was SO windy, along the shore you couldn't even cast. At the tip wind was at my back so not so bad. Had a couple good hits but lost them. Still a nice day. I was totally alone out there for two hours. Peaceful!

Sounds like a nice day. The walk to the hook is good exercise too. Fluke or Strippers?

Mostly fluke. Yeah, my knee was killing me in the third set, third hour of tennis this morning 82 degrees!

You are in better shape than I am. I just got back from Porto Portugal and the hills there wore me out. Walking to the hook and then playing tennis would be too much for me.
