I have to say my first introduction to trout fishing was on the McCloud River in the early 70's. We use that lure to catch the big German Browns. It was an awesome and extremely effective lure. I am pretty sure the laws have changed up there and only single barbless hook is allowed now or that was it was last time I checked.

Good read, thanks!! I dislike how cheaply they’re made now, yet they’re expensive as all heck. I’m always losing the lip or getting cracks in the body, maybe I’m just too rough on em. 🤷‍♀️

YUP. One can remove the original trebles and put whatever complies with current or local laws. Many up here think a single hook means single pointed. Trebles are a single with 3 points.

Single barbless hook means single barbless hook in CA. Cannot use barbless trebles, illegal unless you cut off two hooks off treble hook and pinch down barb on remaining hook. Just fyi.

Repair them to good as new I've a couple that I lost the lips on filled the slot and use them like a twitch bait still catching fish on them 🇺🇸🎣😀👍

True and for bass fishing Rebels worked better but for Browns, Rapala's worked better.
