I’m coming out from cali in July to visit a close friend who just bought a house on lake Conroe. He wants to take me fishing on a new small boat but has never fished this lake yet. Any of you guys or gals help us out with some locations. I would guess the bite would be similar to my lakes here in so cal. But I know nothing about this lake are there humps to fish? Shelf’s? And how busy does this lake get? Any help would be great, have a blessed day

Clear lake is not like it use to be, way too many tournaments beating up the lake every weekend. Water is about 55deg now and they haven’t moved up yet, so about the time you go if the weather holds it will e a pre spawn condition, so points, secondary points, end of docks. The normal pre spawn areas

Bass should be in full spawn mode there, check the shallows with hard bottoms, normal sight fishing baits, jigs, small swim baits, weightless senko,

Hi Kathleen
I have fished for bass with several FLW tournaments on Shasta so my experiences are with bass.
Shasta does have bluegill, rainbow, trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, spotted bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish and some Kokanee salmon. If looking for bass, I would look in the pit river arm along the deep trees or the McCloud arm working shaky heads, drop shot, jigs. the other species someone else will have to step in with some advice. Good luck

I was just spoiled I guess, before they got too big on the west coast here we had what we ordered in two days, great service. Now they have grown so large I spoken with them and now it’s four days just to process your order before they start pulling it for shipping, so now I just need to plan ahead if I need something by a certain date, they carry about anything you could want

Been using them for years and have spent thousands through them with no problem, shipping has slowed down over the last 6 months, but they blame COVID on that
