😂
Mr. Haynes: Your comment about alternatives (the neighbors cat) reminded me of the book titles from my youth, which were repeated by similar aged miscreants: Fierce Tiger by Clawed Balls, illustrated by One Hung Low. Just sayin...
Mr. Blowfish: You are correct. You must show up at a field office, and present some form of proof that you're on SS, or that you can't get SS because an employer did not pay into it. The closest office to me is in Cordelia. As the price of petrol keeps climbing, the price of the license still outweighs the time it takes to show up at the field office, and apply. Save yourself some money by planning a fishing trip to the Delta (or wherever) and drop in at the Cordelia office, pick up the license, and go FISHING legally. 'Nuff said...

BI, where do you live? Last year here in CA I paid $57 for my license. I think thed last time I paid $7 was 1980.
Mr. Blowfish: I've been living in the East Bay (Pinole) for about 30 years now. As for the price on the license, I believe you can go onto the Fish and Wildlife site, and get all the particulars. I know you must be under a certain income amount (verifiable) in order to get the price ($7.00) that I got. There is also an age requirement to be met. As I qualify on both counts, I paid only $7.00. Joe Bob Briggs sez: Check it out.

Yep. No break for the seniors.
Saw: Haven't been on the Stage for quite a while. Anyway, the license that I got last time (mebbe 3 years back) cost me $7.00. There are a couple of requirements that must be addressed before purchase, but look it up. I think the price is still valid. And a special howdy to RJS. Glad you're back. Just sayin'...

I think i will leave it. After all i dodged a saucer yesterday.
Bob: If her grammer spells the same way, I'd take everybody elses advice, and leave it lie. Diddy wa diddy? Hey, if you don't know what a diddy wa diddy is. Don't mess with it! Hey, it's good to be back on the Stage. Not being as computer savvy as the rest of the populace, it took my a while to figger out my "new" 'puter.

I did and I'm sure there are a few others. Did you know 2 bits etc came about from the coins referred to as 'pieces of eight'? Two bits was one fourth of a piece of eight. Eventually after 1776 and adopted the dollar using decimal system while abandoning the British pound sterling a quarter became two bits.
Major, Sir: You are correct. I didn't put that in my previous post for a reason. I wanted to see how many FSers remembered their history. Keep pluggin' away, and sooner or later someone catches on. In this case, you.

Husband comes home.
Wife: Why did you get 6 cartons of milk?
Husband: They had avocados.

2bits is a quarter
4bits is a half dollar
you din't think I'd remember that
didja???
bb: I don't think the reference (2 bits) has anything to do with your age. By the way, when the parrot (in Treasure Island) says "pieces of eight, pieces of eight"; it wasn't refering to a couple of quartets of prostitutes. Just sayin...
Saw: Looks like a pretty good following on the forum. Everybody needs parts or somethin' to do. When you collect the boxes o' treasure, let me know. I'm not in a big hurry either. I came inside for another Arnold Palmer. Hotter'n the hubs o' Hell down here. Got stuff scattered all over the driveway. The 1931 Willys-Overland is almost ready to go. Gonna have to spend the rest of the day rearranging stuff so there is a path for the Willys to get out of the garage (the original goal). Gotta stay focused. Tim

Big A: You are pretty much spot-on with you observation. Dong, er, Tong on the other hand, seems to think a bit differently. I've noticed he lives in that zoo known as San Francisco. Does that make him a zoophile? Just sayin'...
Saw: I realize I haven't been on the forum for a while, but I wouldn't mind helping you out with those reels. I am in the East Bay, and travel to the Russian River on a regular basis. Not very computer literate, so don't know about PM. If you can figure out how to communicate without spreading the word all over the net, have at it. Thanks, Bog.
Fred: Extra sharp Bandon (Oregon) cheddar. Tillamook Blackberry (it's already got Vanilla) ice cream. It's not just Yankees who enjoy excellent apple pie (Apple Annies, California). I was bred and buttered in Southwestern Oregon ya'll. Gitcher biscuits in the oven, and yer buns in bed.
Yup. Did that. Just yankin' yer chain. Don't take me so literally. Read between the lines.
Grizz: In the words of THE FONZ: Correctamundo. Tommy Makem and the Clancy brothers had it down pat when they included their take on the Holy Water in many of their songs.
