Robert, The movie in question is Conagher 1991. This is one of my favorite movies to watch and I think one of
the best by Sam.

All the best, Crunchy.

I am 67 year old grandmother with a adult son who helps me out with all our fishing and camping gear light or heavy. We live in Southern California and like to get out fishing as much as we can. Is there any fishing and camping groups in our area? That would be awesome.
Thank you, fishinggal101.

Fishinggal, One place where you might get some good information on fishen people and where
to go with your scooter and, it's right there in Fullerton and that would Bob Marriotts. The people
there are very good at helping out special needs people. You should have no problem at all.

Hope things work out for the best for you.

I think that works well for fishing trout in a lake or deep hole but most of my stream trout are caught in 12" - 24" of water. A deep hole is 2' deep, and they do hold the most and biggest trout.

F. G. You'v been reading my mail. Most of my fishing is in the rivers and streams here in N. Idaho. Nothing
real fast and big but, the trout seem to like the waters. Not deep and not in heavly growen over with weeds.
I have found that for moving waters a sparcely tied leach pattern is hard for the fish to refuse. And, yes the
slim soft plastic has worked it's way into my fly box for my 3 wt. 6x tippet system. I don't usually go smaller
as there is always some big lunker waiting to suprise me and be a little too much for the rig I am using. But
hay, I love it when that happens. That is what winters are for, tying flies and re stocking the arsnel for spring.
Currently, I am tying the "Yellow Sally" on a big #16 hook. This will be my lead off fly to see what's going
on in my first ventures out this spring. It just so happens to be my go-to fly when things could be going a little
better. Hope every one had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. GOD Bless and tight lines to all.

El Rod. Sorry to hear about the hard freez. My grandson over in Heron, Montana showed a -20F at one time
and the next morning showed a -40F on his following thermometer the next morning. He is up on the mountain
and such things do happen at times. We are down low here only about 20 miles as the crow flies from him, but
it still got down to -20F. Not the time to be using the heavy equipment, as everything crackes when the temp.
gets that low. Believe it or not, but just throwing a blanket over the car engine keeps the temp at a workable
level. Hope everyone can stay warm and have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hi GW. You were right there is a warming trend out there. It warmed up to 29 deg. F. However earlier it was

coming down so hard and thick the front door was dammed up and the boy had to go out an upstairs window
and clean things up a bit. I'm not dumb enough to go outside when there is good hot coffee and a easy chair
right here inside where it's nice and warm.

The shortest day is coming up so that means it should be a little lighter out there longer. Only tied up a few
new flies this winter as it's hard to say just what condition the creeks will be in when the time comes to go
out and wet a line again.

Fill you in more when thigs are more reasonable for me to get out there.

Saw 1 I'm with you on that one. We don't take any deer or elk around the home area. We load up the horses
and camping gear and head down to the Clearwater area for our hunting. Besides, we feed the elk when the snow drives them off the mountains. Sometimes as many as 20 to 30 come around and try to compete with the horses
for hay. By the end of winter I can get as close as 30' to them but, they get kind of skitterish if I get any closer
even when throwing them a flake or two. Couple years back the F&G even sponsered us to a whole pickup full of bails. That's one reason I like it here in the North West. The furry neighbors just drop in for a snack almost any
time of the day. Cell doesn't have a chip that fits the computer, so sorry about the pictures.

My bad. Old brain!!! I was speaking of Pend Oreille. I did not stop at Coeur d' alene. So sorry. I don't fish Coeur d' alene. It is to hard to spell when keeping notes in my fish log.

P B. The waters around Coeur d' alene are usually good for fishing. I like the upper St. Joe, and have
fairly good results just fishing for the normal Cutthroat trout. OH, by the way to ease the keeping of notes
the best way to spell Coeur d' alene is simply (CDA) and everyone from around here will know where you
are talking about.

We are boating and trolling for fish in Ponderay Lake. At what depth are you finding is best when trolling? New to the lake, any advice on good locations would be very helpful.

PT. When we fish the lake for Kamloops we usually plan on a two day trip.
Launch at Sam Owen and slow trolling out and ending up at Evans Landing or Maiden Rock. You can pull your
boat in close at either place (but be reallll crefull about it) There is a picnic area at each area, and we usually
spend the night. It's been a while but I think Maiden Rock area is only accessable by boat. So bring what you
need and, don't use your boat battery for the radio and run it down! Get up next morning and repeat the trip in reverse. Fishing with a "Point Special" with about 3/4 oz. on 150' of line usually gets some good results. But, it's
all fishing and not necessary catching. You can't beat the vistas of the magestic Monarchs or the grandure of the
lake it's self. Have fun, be carefull, as you are all alone. Do tell someone where you are going and about what
time you should return! At times the lake can become real nasty but, a good skipper can usually come through
anythins the lake can hand out

Luck to you! Crunchy

I am sure many of you were not aware of this fact about the year 1934! In the first place, it is the year of my birth. Thanksgiving was often the same date as my birthday for many years, due to President Delano Roosevelt manipulating the date for Thanksgiving.

Another reason was the Ford automobiles that were rolling off the assembly lines in Detroit. These vehicles were the favorite cars, the ones most often stolen by Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker for their chosen activity of robbing banks and then out running any pursuit by the law enforcement’s vehicles.

In fact, the 1934 Ford was so superior, Clyde penned a letter to Henry Ford, extolling the superiority of Mr. Ford’s cars. He said he would not drive any other make of car. Unfortunately, the 1934 Fords were not bulletproof and Bonny and Clyde found out on a road in Northern Louisiana one fateful day.

1934 also saw the gangster John Dillinger shot to death by government agents. I had a manager who was attending the same movie as John. After he had been shot and his body removed, there was a swarm of people who were taking pieces of newspaper and soaking them in Dillinger’s blood. He said he also had such a macabre keepsake. But one gangster’s blood was a long way from what was happening elsewhere in the world.

In China Mao Tse-Tung is spreading communism and killed dissenters. Joseph Stalin has begun his purges and massacres. Adolf Hitler had just declared himself as the Furher! Further weather drought in the U.S. Midwest and some 32 million acres of farmland were destroyed.

So, not everything was ‘swell’. These were some tough times for many, requiring tough people to survive. A lot of folks migrated to California. Now it is a rare case when anyone from California will admit they, or their ancestors, migrated from the dust bowl to California back in the 1930s. So, I am still here as proof that 1934 was a great year. Just Sayin…RJS
I am sure many of you were not aware of this fact ... (show quote)

R J: Yes 1934 was a great year, for it gave birth to ME on April 4th. At that time we lived on a small island
of Santa Catalina, off the coast of LA. that makes us about the same age.

Hi Granpa. I'm also a Granpa here in So. Cal. for a short time. Heading back ot N. Idaho soon and get in some good fish 'en. Got stuck down here in the Asphalt Jungle without any good streams to wet a line in let alone fish in!

Where are you located presently? Maybe I can help with what water there is for a person to fish in.

Drifter,

I'm also heading back to N. Idaho for some fishing. I know it's late in the season for good fishing, but, you fish
when you can. Still have a few problems getting out of So. Cal. I just leave it up to the wife as she does most
all of the driving.....and she hates fighting all the bad drivers and the heavy traffic here in Orange C.

This year I think we'll stay all winter long unless the wild fires drive us out again. Havent been ice fish'en for
sometime and am looking forward to it. Mostly yellow or stripped perch, which I put close to the top for good
taco eat'en.

The boy counted 30 turkeys in the side pastuer last week, so, the time won't go all to waste. He usually always
has a few elk in the yard competing with the horses for hay. The resident ducks and geese and the
greatgrandson seem to get allong pretty well together, as long as the GS doesn't start throwing rocks at them.

Where will you be located up north when you get here? Maybe we could wet a lint together.

I live in West Central Indiana, . My question, Would stocking Yellow Perch be advisable., my lake is approx. 20 acres, deepest part near dam is 35', running along the length, it is 8' --15'. of course it freezes, so plenty of cold water. We now have great Bluegill, Red Ear, Bass, and Channel Cat fishing, with some Crappie. I have never fished for, or caught Yellow Perch. Your comments will be much appreciated, as the availability of the stockers is nearing

PZB Perch is usually a good introduction to a pond. I and friends have used Christmas trees weighted down
with cans filled with surplus cement and a attaching wire sticking out.

With the trees planted in at least 12' of fishable water the blue gill will like this for a good habitat to live around.

Good luck with the transplant. Be sure it's your pond you are transplanting into or you could get a very big ticket.

Good posting BF. My time is running out and the sand is mostly shifted to the bottom. I still try to live
up to many of the suggestions you have written down. It's a way of life that makes a person feel as though
he was put here for something specific.

Fred. Watch out for the forest fires. Many of the normal access roads are closed and the fire vehicles take up
both sides of the roads! They don't even want you walking in to go fisnen. Besides it's just too hot for that kind
of walken. Stay home with Miller or Bud and you'll be way ahead of the game. Be like most of the armchair
fishermen around here and just ask for pictures and enjoy life. It's a good time to tie a few flies so you are
ready when all this blowes over or when our good forest fighters clean up this mess.
