Only thing that got wasted were the two fishermen after all the cleaning! Long but great day!

In response to another post by another member I included some pictures that I wanted to share with everyone.

Two years ago I went down to Fla to fish with my best Friend. We were targeting Oscars...South American Oscar Cichlids. A non-native, invasive species that is taking over the Everglades and elsewhere. These are a result of aquarium owners dumping their pets that have become too large and too aggresive for their tanks. We loaded the boat with them using cane poles and chicken liver. They fight like fish twice their size. One even broke my hook!
I asked if there was a limit on these and my Buddy said "Well let's put it like this...If the game Warden sees you throw one back....He'll probably arrest you.
The LM Bass were biting too so I switched over and had a great day "Catching" See for yourself.

Yeah...that's why I said the "Glades" is full of them. Oh, and don't forget the pet Pythons that are reproducing like rabbits. They are even eating Alligators!
I went down there 2 years ago with a friend and caught a boat full of them. (Cichlids) We were fishing in the canal next to Hwy 27 east of Clewiston. LM Bass were biting too. I will post a picture in my next submission.

It is probably a "Cyclid" (spelling?) The glades are full of them. Invasive species that the Game and Fish will arrest you if they see you throw one back. Ha! Stupid aquarium owners started dumping their "Oscars" because they got too big. Lot of fun catching them on cane poles. And good to eat. Just put some chicken liver on a hook and hold on, TIGHT!

Got home from fishing with the Grandson and found out we have a new baby (inside our fenced yard). This is a common occurrence as the Doe in the pic was also born in our yard. We live in a golf course community and the deer are like pets. They have their babies in our yard to keep them safe and to get away from those little suckers chewin on their tits! After about two weeks I open the gate and leave it open until Momma takes the little ones with her.

Took my Grandson fishing yesterday. Stopped by the bait store and picked up 2 doz. minnows and also had some worms I dug up the night before. Those fickle fish didn't even sniff the "storebought" minnows but tore up the worms! Couple of small bass (one keeper size) and bream galore. Put one bream on a hook and drifted for strippers. Lost the only bite we had there. Had a great day, catchin'...swimmin'..lunch on the beach. Here are some pix.

Sheepshead??? They are quite adept at sucking shrimp off a hook. Keep a finger on your line at the reel so you can feel the slightest nibble.

I had a good day with catfish in lake Sinclair about two years ago. Bass fishing was slow so I changed up. Tied some line, split shot and hook to some pepsi and milk bottles, put them out with catfish bait (got it at Wally World) and started casting for bass nearby. It got so busy I couldn't stop buzzing from bottle to bottle! Had 3 out and it almost wore me out. I was using twenty pound test fluoro and when I caught up to one (had to chase that bottle around for about 5 minutes), I went to pull him up and he about pulled me out of the boat before the line snapped! Had to be a monster! Needless to say we had a great fish fry that evening. Good luck to you. And if you are taking a boat don't tie it too tight to the dock. They pump all the water back up to the dam at night and you might find you boat dangling from the tie lines! (it happened to me).

Yeah be prepared to lose a lure or two.....stumps! And the bass know how to tie you to one of them! There are some good ones in there. Good luck, have fun and take pictures...and post em here!
