In response to another post by another member I included some pictures that I wanted to share with everyone.

Two years ago I went down to Fla to fish with my best Friend. We were targeting Oscars...South American Oscar Cichlids. A non-native, invasive species that is taking over the Everglades and elsewhere. These are a result of aquarium owners dumping their pets that have become too large and too aggresive for their tanks. We loaded the boat with them using cane poles and chicken liver. They fight like fish twice their size. One even broke my hook!
I asked if there was a limit on these and my Buddy said "Well let's put it like this...If the game Warden sees you throw one back....He'll probably arrest you.
The LM Bass were biting too so I switched over and had a great day "Catching" See for yourself.

Look 👀 up the scientific name for LM Bass and Oscars they are both Cichlids 🐠 no one seems to care that both Striped Bass and LM Bass are none native species in California because of the million dollar industry that it has with all the tournaments

You caught more fish in one day than I catch in a year!! But I do fish salt water with size and number limits.

Aka “jack” they like water with a high tannin content. Brown water, also ambush predators. I have had them follow a lure to the boat and hit just as the lure leaves the water. Fun to catch, quite bony. Taste great. A lot of fun on light tackle. Smaller cousin to northern pike and Muskie.
Tight Lines!
